Battlefield 6 Leak Appears To Showcase Fan-Favourite Rush Mode
A recent leak from the Battlefield 6 Alpha-test seems to confirm the return of one of the series' most favoured online modes.
Posted to Twitter by the name Rain—as well as Reddit before it was removed by Moderators—the video highlights the mode's Attacker gameplay, showcasing the game's destruction physics and an impressively smooth online environment (for an Alpha, anyway).
The gameplay is seemingly from the Battlefield Labs Alpha Test, and it was not meant to be published publicly, since the alpha requires players to sign an agreement not to share footage or details online. However, this is only one of several leaks that have come from the Alpha, as a video leaked back in May had former Battlefield producer David Goldfarb comment that the game had 'Bad Company 2 vibes.'
Many of the people who saw the footage on Twitter (X) commented with a mix of excitement and skepticism, with the top comment saying, 'How does it end up looking more like MW2019 every time something new leaks?' Several others commented on how guns seem to lack any recoil from firing and how movement speed seems a lot faster.
The wait for Battlefield 6 (which isn't its official title) has been pretty long and arduous. A now-debunked 'leak' said it was initially set to be revealed on June 9, 2021, and several more have shown its active development. Following Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V which were set during WWI and WWII respectivley, its been praised by fans as a solid return-to-form as a more modern military shooter.
While concrete details from both DICE and EA are few and far between Battlefield 6, or whatever it ends up being officially titled, is set to launch in March 2026. However, while some have theorized that this may change due to the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI in the same month, CEO Andrew Wilson has confirmed they aren't intending on competing.
