Shoppers ditch bean-to-cup coffee machines for at-home gadget with £181 off

The De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima has impressed coffee lovers with its flavourful coffee and straightforward set up - and it's got 48% off For those in the market for a brand new coffee machine, Nespresso has teamed up with Italian coffee powerhouse De'Longhi, bringing caffeine lovers a swanky new coffee machine that is currently on sale. The De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima is compatible with a range of different espresso pods from Nespresso. The machine, which has had rave reviews, can be tailored to make five black coffee sizes, including espresso, double espresso, gran lungo, mug/coffee and carafe via four different coffee pod sizes (which seem to come with the machine). Unlike a number of Nespresso machines, this particular gadget comes with a built-in De'Longhi milk frother, which is great for those who enjoy a cappuccino and latte instead of a black Americano. The milk frother attached to the machine can create three milk-based recipes, cappuccino and latte macchiato, as well as the option to create a personalised one with the Extra Hot Foam button. Plus, the frothing section of the device can be detached for refilling. Costing £199 instead of its usual price tag of £379.99, shoppers can save a whopping £180.99 for the black design and £183.59 for the white/silver variation. With a built-in milk frother that can add the milk automatically to the cup, it rivals the likes of the BREVILLE One-Touch CoffeeHouse II VCF147 Coffee Machine, which is also on sale for £169.99 from £349.99. While the Nespresso De'Longhi machine has pre-set buttons to generate the desired aerated milk, the Breville machine has a dial to control how much air is being delivered to the milk. Although for those who prefer a simple pod-only coffee machine without the bells and whistles of a milk frother (and the more expensive price tag), the Philips Sublime L'OR Pod Coffee Machine is currently on sale at Argos for £60 down from £105. Although coffee lovers are certainly lauding praise on the De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima machine, with many people saying how 'amazing' the coffee it makes is. One happy Nespresso fan said: "This machine is amazing. We've tried Nespresso coffee for the first time on holidays. We've had the coffee machine in our room. I've said then I would love to buy one once we back. And here we are, I've bought it and it's amazing. The machine is so sleek, coffee is amazing, full of flavour and tasty. "Not as easy to operate as my previous machine, but I will get used to it. The best thing is that once you've done the coffee, you can open the 'lid' and the used capsule is thrown automatically to the 'bin'. This is brilliant! "I can't wait to test all the different types of coffee available. But so far, so good. The temperature of the coffee was perfect, milk was lovely and frothy. Just perfect!" Another reflected: " My coffee machine arrived in beautiful packaging. Thanks to the video instructions provided by Nespresso, I was able to make my first start-up easily. The machine is designed to be simple to use, making it a pleasant process. I liked the fact that I could store the milk I hadn't used up in the fridge without dirtying another container. "I previously had mixed feelings about capsule coffee machines, but thanks to the welcome box with a selection of capsules in different flavours, I was quickly reassured that the purchase was a good choice. What captivated me about this coffee machine is that it cleans itself. Cleaning The milk frother has a dedicated programme to clean itself, and the whole milk container can be disassembled in several parts and is dishwasher safe." Although their one qualm? "The machine is actually noisier than I thought it would be, but relative to the many advantages it has, this becomes a minor thing." Someone else echoed this slight gripe and said: "Things to note: I did find the machine to be quite noisy but this did not bother me at all. It is also a bit of a bulky coffee machine compared to other compact machines Nespresso has made but it has the added bonus of the milk frother so no need to purchase it separately!" One shopper even ditched their bean-to-cup machine in favour of this and said: "Absolutely love this machine. It turns out perfect coffee every time. We deliberated for a long time about moving from our bean to cup machine but so pleased we did. The range of coffee blends and strengths is wide plus the flavoured pods deliver some pleasant alternatives to a straight coffee (my other half loves the almond croissant flavour)." The De'Longhi Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima is available at Amazon for £199 down from £379.99 for a limited time only.

The system rolls on as Magpies prepare for Saints

Collingwood's AFL history has their revered and fearsome Machine. These days, it's all about The System. Talk to coach Craig McRae or any of his players and it is rare for "system" not to come up in conversation. It is still a long way from the Jock McHale-coached teams that won four-straight premierships between 1927-30 and earned the Machine nickname. But it is a philosophy that has powered Collingwood to a game clear at the top of the ladder, with a game in hand. Coming out of the bye and without injured stars Jordan De Goey and Brayden Maynard, Collingwood are short-priced favourites for Saturday night's clash with St Kilda at Marvel Stadium. "All year has just been multiple 'system' wins - not relying necessarily on one person to get the job done, not relying on one forward to get the job done," said in-form Magpies backman Isaac Quaynor. A case in point is their most recent game, the one-point King's Birthday win over Melbourne. Quaynor and fellow defenders Josh Daicos and Jeremy Howe were outstanding in a pulsating clash, where gaining territory was key. Between Quaynor's pace, Daicos' scything ball use and Howe's intercept marking, they repeatedly thwarted the Demons and launched counter punches. Star onballer Nick Daicos struggled to shake off Ed Langdon's tag - and he can expect similar attention from Marcus Windager on Saturday night - but ultimately the system held sway. As much as Melbourne pressed hard late - and there were certainly some dicey moments - for a big chunk of the last quarter it looked like Collingwood were under control. "Way to hold up, way to fight, way to get contest done - Melbourne always seem to get a fair few inside 50s against us and we always seem to hold up really well," Quaynor said. "So it's a good backline to be part of and we can keep building. "That felt like a final. "There was definitely a period of the game where they started getting on top. We thought we adjusted, but it's just our 'team D' (defence) taking care of things and backing in our system." Midfielder Pat Lipinski will return from concussion on Saturday and youngster Will Hayes made way for him. Coming off a 72-point thumping from the Western Bulldogs, the Saints will give defender Alix Tauru his AFL debut. Mattaes Phillipou and Darcy Wilson will return as the Saints dropped Zak Jones, Jack Carroll and Ryan Byrnes. Collingwood's AFL history has their revered and fearsome Machine. In Manipur, security forces find 328 arms in ‘biggest single-day recovery'

In a major breakthrough, security forces have recovered 328 weapons and 8,665 assorted ammunition in separate search operations conducted in different valley districts of Manipur, officials said. Security officials have called it the 'biggest single-day recovery' as part of the police department's ongoing operations launched to recover the stolen weapons and ammunition from the armouries of state forces. 'The recovery was made by a combined team of Manipur police, Central Armed Police Forces, Army and Assam Rifles in the intervening night of June 13 and June 14 on receipt of specific intelligence report,' one official said. The recovered weapons include 151 SLR rifle, 65 INSAS Rifle, 73 rifles, 5 carbine gun, 2 MP5 gun, 12 Light Machine Gun, and 6 AK series rifles. Of the total ammunition recovered, 3,534 are SLR rounds, 2,186 INSAS rounds, 2,252 .303 rounds, 234 rounds of AK series, 20 9mm rounds, 10 hand grenades, three lathode shells, and seven detonators. 'These intelligence-based operations mark a major achievement for the Manipur police, the security forces, in their continued efforts to restore normalcy, maintain public order, and ensure the safety and security of citizens and their property', the DGP office said in a statement. The statement also reiterated: 'Manipur Police is committed to a peaceful and secure Manipur. The public is urged to cooperate with the police and security forces and report any suspicious activities or information related to illegal weapons to the nearest police station or central control room'. With this, over 5,000 weapons and more than 60,000 ammunition have been recovered to date, the police officer added. Over 6,000 weapons and over one lakh ammunition were looted from state forces' armouries since ethnic violence erupted in Manipur on May 3, 2023. To recover the looted weapons, the state government, in coordination with other security agencies, have been conducting search operations. In addition, the state also asked the public to surrender looted and illegally held weapons to nearest police station or security camps, assuring no punitive action against such voluntary surrender. In February, Manipur saw the largest voluntary surrender of weapons across both the valley and hill districts, with 307 weapons being handed over to security forces. Of the total surrendered weapons, 246 weapons were handed over to the state by Meitei outfit, Arambai Tenggol, in a ceremony held at the 1st Manipur Rifles in Imphal, while 61 weapons were handed over by other volunteer forces from both the valley and hills. The significant development came days after Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla issued a deadline asking youths from both the valley and hills to surrender looted and illegal weapons to avoid any punitive action and to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
