This Florida high school track team just set the fastest time ever in U.S. history
A record-setting track and field team recently captured its fourth major title for IMG Academy.
And in doing so, they became the fastest girls 4x800 meter relay team in United States high school track history.
Aurora Bertelsen Del Solar, Mackenzie Winning, Danielle Graham and Anyla Robinson won the Millrose Games, Indoor Nationals, Penn Relays and New Balance Nationals Outdoor in the 2025 season.
The most recent victory came at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
During their four-meet sweep, the quartet set and broke their own records in the 4x800 meter relay event. First, the team set a Florida indoor high school record of 8 minutes, 55.47 seconds at the Millrose Games. They followed that with a national high school indoor record of 8:46.04 in the 4x800 meter relay.
That time was two seconds faster than the previous record. Bertelsen Del Solar, Winning, Graham and Robinson then shattered their record time at the Penn Relays. At the event, the foursome ran a blistering 8 minutes and 40.51 seconds race to set a new Florida all-time record for either indoor or outdoor in the 4x800 meter girls relay.
IMG Academy relay team sets US record
'They recorded a time fast enough to have won at the collegiate level in the same event and meet this year,' a news release said.
The team, comprised of three juniors and one sophomore, are returning to IMG Academy next season.
'The girls 4x800m relay team is one of the most talented groups of girls we have seen in the history of high school track and field,' IMG Academy track and field director Mark Napier said in a news release. 'To have only started training together at the beginning of August to now have broken national records, doing what no one has done before, showcases their strength and dedication and IMG Academy's commitment to fostering the growth and development of top student athletes to win their future.'
The relay team, though, was not IMG's only standout performance at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
Yuliya Maslouskaya won the girls heptathlon outdoor national title with the second-best all-time score in United States high school history. Only Anna Hall, who finished fifth in the 2024 Paris Olympics, has a better high school girls heptathlon score.
Winston Schroder, a freshman, won the boys decathlon outdoor national championship. He's the only freshman in the event's history to win the decathlon title.
Mikey Swanson and Reegan Clutter set meet records in the 400-meter and javelin, respectively, according to the news release.
