Madani retreat in Port Dickson promotes people-centric, compassionate leadership values
KUALA LUMPUR: Government Members of Parliament and members of the unity government gathered today for the "Ukhuwah Kepimpinan Kerajaan Madani" retreat in Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan.
In a statement, the Madani Government Backbenchers Club said the programme reflects the unity government's strong commitment to prioritising the interests of the people.
Among the activities held were gotong-royong sessions at several locations, including Pusasda Mosque, Kampung Telok Pelandok, and Kampung Pachitan.
A Jualan Rahmah sale was also organised, offering essential goods at affordable prices to help ease the burden of rising living costs.
The programme was further enlivened with a kenduri rakyat and engagement sessions between leaders and residents, promoting an environment that encouraged open dialogue.
The statement added that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's presence at the event further reinforced the government's people-centric approach, with Anwar taking the opportunity to engage directly with locals to better understand their concerns.
"This is an example of the values of ihsan and social responsibility, which form the foundation of the Malaysia Madani philosophy.
"Government MPs from the Madani government will continue to support the organisation of similar programmes in the future.
"Only by being close to and understanding the heartbeat of the people can we build a nation that is more inclusive, just, and dignified, in line with the great aspirations of Malaysia Madani."
