Gonzaga Four-Star Recruiting Target Sam Funches Sets Date for Official Visit
Gonzaga Four-Star Recruiting Target Sam Funches Sets Date for Official Visit originally appeared on Athlon Sports. High rising 2026 center recruit Sam Funches (Germantown, MS) confirmed he will take an official visit to Gonzaga in October for Kraziness in the Kennel, Athlon Sports has learned. Advertisement Although a date for Kraziness - which is Gonzaga's first official practice of the season - has not been set, it will likely take place on Saturday, October 4. Funches was initially set to take his official visit to Spokane in February, but it was postponed while his high school team was still participating in the state playoffs. Germantown defeated Madison Central to win the 7A championship, with Funches contributing 16 points and seven rebounds on 7-11 shooting. Advertisement Funches is a fast rising prospect in the 2026 class, rocketing up On3's rankings to No. 31 overall and No. 4 among centers. He is currently playing at the NBPA Top 100 camp and has been impressive. The 7'0 big man has over 20 offers and has taken official visits to Kansas, Ole Miss, and Cal. He is not only planning to visit Gonzaga but LSU, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt as well. Funches is a priority recruit for Mark Few and Gonzaga, who are in contact with a handful of other highly ranked 2026 prospects, including No. 1 overall recruit Tyran Stokes, No. 10 ranked Ikenna Alozie, No. 24 ranked Toni Bryant, and No. 138 ranked Dean Rueckert.
