Seven Rajasthan cagers including women's team captain Yashika Singhal and Udaipur's Anshuman Shekhawat to compete at World University Games in Germany
Jaipur: Seven cagers from Rajasthan including women's team captain Yashika Singhal will represent Indian University basketball team in the FISU World University Games 2025 to be held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, from July 16 to 27. Besides Yashika Singhal, Sonal Mahala and Manvi Srivastava are part of the 12-member women's squad. There are as many as four Rajasthan players in the 12-member men's team, which will be led by Krishnapalsinh Gohil of Gujarat. Anshuman Shekhawat of Udaipur, Lokesh Kumar Sharma, Mohammed Ishan and Yash Vardhan Singh made it to the national varsity side on the basis of their exceptional skills. The women's team was trained by the former Indian team captain CV Sunny, while Dhyan Chand Awardee and former international Ram Kumar from Rajasthan guided the men's team. Both the Indian teams underwent a 15-day camp organised by Mahatma Gandhi University at the regional Sports Center, Kochi. The Indian basketball team played in the 1980 Moscow Olympics. After a long gap of 45 years, the Indian team is again going to play a world-level tournament. Anshuman is currently playing for the senior team of Rajasthan. He also represented Rajasthan in the National Games held in Uttarakhand. His father Mahendra Singh Shekhawat has also been a player of the Indian basketball team and is employed in the Railways in Udaipur. Women's India is in Group A along with Finland, Argentina, and Czechia, while the men's team is in Group B which also has USA, Romania, and Latvia.

Komatireddy vows to make Nalgonda model district, promises boost to education sector
Hyderabad, July 15 (UNI) Telangana Roads, Buildings, and Cinematography Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, today reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the united Nalgonda district into a leader in all sectors, particularly education. In an emotional note, the minister said that despite receiving the love and support of the people of Nalgonda for over three decades, he feels he has done little in return and is determined to change that. Addressing a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat, Komatireddy focused on the development of Mahatma Gandhi University and the broader education infrastructure across Nalgonda. Senior officials from the education department participated in the meeting. Calling for collective efforts to elevate Mahatma Gandhi University's reputation, he urged the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and Governing Body members to work towards making it a prestigious institution. He highlighted the recent sanction of a special grant of Rs 60.22 crore for the university and inquired about the addition of new academic programmes. Responding to VC Altaf Hussain's request to introduce Pharmacy, LLB, and LLM courses, the minister assured immediate action. 'With the support of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, we are committed to bringing transformative changes in the education system,' he said, adding that establishing University Colleges of Pharmacy and Law in Nalgonda has been his long-standing aspiration. Discussions during the meeting also covered strengthening infrastructure in government degree colleges, junior colleges, and high schools across the united Nalgonda district. Komatireddy informed he would soon hold discussions with the Chief Minister regarding further development of educational institutions in the region. 90.83% qualify in TG ICET-2025
Hyderabad: Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) and the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) have announced the results for the Telangana Integrated Common Entrance Test (TG ICET–2025), with a total of 90.83 per cent of candidates qualified. The results were announced by TGCHE Chairman, Prof V Balakista Reddy, TGCHE Vice-Chairmen I and II, and Professor Aluvala Ravi, the Convenor of TG ICET-2025, and senior officials on Monday. The online entrance test was conducted, from June 8 to June 9 by MGU, Nalgonda, under the supervision of TSCHE. The test is for admission into MBA and MCA programs for the academic year 2025–26 in the State of Telangana. Out of a total of 71,746 candidates registered, 64,938 appeared for the examination, and 58,985 candidates qualified. This resulted in a total pass percentage of 90.83%. A gender-wise analysis of the results shows that out of the candidates who appeared for the test, 71746 were male, 34412 were female, and one identified as transgender. Of those who qualified, 27,998 were male, 30,986 were female, and one was a transgender person. The minimum qualifying marks for ranking in TG ICET (excluding SC/ST candidates) are 25% of the aggregate marks. However, there are no minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). TG ICET 2025 Results Declared: 90.83% Pass, Check Scores at tgche.ac.in
The results of ICET 2025, conducted for admissions to MBA and MCA courses in Telangana, have been announced. The TG ICET results were released by the Chairman of the Higher Education Council, Balakrishna Reddy. A total of 90.83% of candidates passed the ICET exam. The exam was held on June 8 and 9 under the supervision of Mahatma Gandhi University. Out of 71,757 registered candidates, 64,938 appeared for the exam. The results have been made available on the official website: The exam was conducted online in four shifts across the state—two sessions per day: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. The preliminary answer key was released on June 21, and candidates were allowed to raise objections from June 22 to June 26. The final results were declared on July 7.
