The athlete was seen driving a car using just her feet. In the video clip shared on her Instagram handle, the star para-athlete was seen on multiple instances confidently driving the vehicle. She is seen using her right foot to steer the vehicle while the left foot is used to accelerate/brake. "Took on the driver's seat for a while, loving every moment of it.?? Never say NEVER," the video was captioned as saying. Coincidentally, the vehicle she seems to be driving is a Mahindra. It should be noted that she had been gifted a Thar by Anand Mahindra himself after winning multiple Gold medals for India at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou. "I will never, EVER again complain about petty problems in my life. Sheeta Devi, you are a teacher to us all. Please pick any car from our range & we will award it to you & customise it for your use," Anand Mahindra had tweeted. The star athlete grabbed the spotlight with her outstanding performances at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Competing in the mixed compound archery team event alongside Rakesh Kumar, the duo clinched a bronze medal for India. She also came agonisingly close to winning gold in the individual event, but was narrowly defeated by Chile's Marina Zuniga. Despite the result, the Indian para-athlete delivered a valiant performance that made the entire nation proud. At just 17 years old, she became the youngest Indian Paralympian to win a medal, earning nationwide acclaim and even the admiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who personally congratulated her on her achievement. Later, when the Prime Minister invited the para-athletes to his residence in New Delhi, she gifted him a signed jersey as a token of gratitude. Born in 2007 with phocomelia â€' a rare congenital disorder that led to the underdevelopment of her arms â€' she never let her condition define her. Determined to pursue her passion, she trained alongside able-bodied archers during her academy days, mastering an unorthodox technique in which she uses the right side of her body to shoot arrows with remarkable precision. Mahindra Set To Unveil New ‘NU' Platform This Independence Day
Last Updated: The upcoming platform will likely be called NU, replacing its earlier working name, NFA (New Flexible Architecture). Mahindra is all set to make a major announcement this Independence Day. The brand has teased a brand-new vehicle platform, expected to be called NU, ahead of its official debut on August 15, 2025, in Mumbai. Freedom gets a ???????? expression this Independence Day as we showcase a Bold ???????? vision for the future. #FREEDOM_NU #MahindraAuto #MahindraElectricOriginSUVs — Mahindra Automotive (@Mahindra_Auto) June 26, 2025 This comes as part of Mahindra's larger push to introduce future-ready products across various segments. The teaser, released on Mahindra Automotive's social media, hints that the platform—previously known as NFA (New Flexible Architecture)—may support ICE (petrol and diesel), hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. Interestingly, the teaser video also shows the Mahindra Electric Origin SUV logo, suggesting this new platform could serve both traditional and electric models. The NU platform will be built at Mahindra's Chakan plant, which is currently undergoing major upgrades to increase production capacity and prepare for next-gen vehicles, as per NDTV Auto. Next-Gen Bolero and Thar in the Works? Industry insiders believe that Mahindra might launch the upcoming Bolero or Thar Sports on this new platform. Though not officially confirmed, the next-gen Bolero has already been spotted testing, and is expected to feature a monocoque structure, making it lighter and more efficient. Rumours also suggest that Mahindra is working on hybrid technology, focusing on range-extender plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) instead of traditional self-charging hybrids. This would give drivers more electric range and efficiency, without compromising performance. Continuing a Proud Tradition For years, Mahindra has used August 15—India's Independence Day—as a platform to showcase its innovations. This year, instead of launching a new car, the spotlight will be on the foundation for future Mahindra models—a smart, adaptable platform designed for the evolving needs of Indian and global markets.

Mahindra's new budget baby SUV reaches Aussie showrooms
More details of the 2025 Mahindra XUV 3XO have been confirmed ahead of first Australian customer deliveries expected by the automaker on July 4, 2025. The urban-focussed XUV 3XO is Mahindra's smallest crossover SUV yet in Australia, and will rival the Chery Tiggo 4, Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic, Mazda CX-3, Toyota Yaris Cross, Nissan Juke and Volkswagen T-Cross. Expected to cost less than $30,000, Mahindra Automotive Australia has said it will announce the XUV 3XO pricing for local models at 18:30 AEST on July 3, 2025. The first examples are already reaching local Mahindra dealerships. The automaker also confirmed two model grades for Australia: an entry-level AX5L and higher-grade AX7L (L for Luxury), the same naming strategy Mahindra uses here for its Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail-rivalling XUV 700. Hundreds of new car deals are available through CarExpert right now. Get the experts on your side and score a great deal. Browse now. Mahindra has yet to confirm a full specifications list, however it has confirmed the XUV 3XO will come with a 26.03-inch screen array, comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety equipment confirmed includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition. While Mahindra Australia hasn't confirmed what powers the local XUV 3XO, it has confirmed fuel economy of 6.5L/100km, which matches the figures for the 82kW/200Nm 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and six-speed automatic transmission. Mahindra performed a crash-test demonstration for media in India earlier this month after saying the XUV 3XO has not been set-up to pass crash tests but to provide five-star safety 'for the real world'. With its Australian arm headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, Mahindra is amid a brand transformation from a maker of sturdy, farm-focussed utes to a family-friendly mainstream brand. The XUV700 and XUV 3XO deliver fresher, more sophisticated design and equipment as part of the company's new product push globally. Mahindra currently has 2025 end of financial year (EOFY) offers on the XUV700 AX7L as well as its Scorpio Z8 and Z8L SUVs.
