Nagpur: The Maharashtra govt will include 67 schools in the Maoist-affected Gadchiroli district under its ambitious 'Majhi E-Shaala' initiative starting from the 2025–26 academic year.
The initiative, jointly implemented by the Maharashtra Prathamik Shikshan Parishad, Pratham Infotech Foundation, and LTIMindtree, aims to bridge learning gaps through structured offline digital education.
According to officials from the education department, classrooms in these schools will be equipped with smart television sets, projectors, and offline digital kits pre-loaded with educational content.
Schools have been instructed to ensure the necessary infrastructure is in place to run digital sessions smoothly.
As part of the initiative, the Pratham Infotech Foundation and LTIMindtree will provide necessary digital resources, conduct teacher training workshops, and also support school managements in effectively utilising the digital content.
The teachers will also be supported by specially identified 'Young Instructor' students who will help their classmates during the digital lessons.
School authorities have been directed to schedule digital classes systematically and ensure that all lessons are completed before the final examinations. Principals and headmasters will be responsible for regularly reviewing the programme's progress. Emphasis has also been placed on the safe handling of digital devices and the proper use of resources.
Officials added that cluster-level heads will monitor the programme's implementation in their respective zones, while district-level education officers will oversee its overall execution of the project.
Periodic visits by representatives from the Pratham Infotech Foundation will help track learning outcomes and address any challenges.
