Police probe suspicious death of man found seriously injured in flat

An investigation has been launched following the suspicious death of a man at a flat in Ayr. Police were called to reports of a man found seriously injured at the property on Glenmuir Place around 8.10pm on Saturday. The 42-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as suspicious and a major investigation is underway. Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen anything suspicious to come forward. Detective inspector Steven Slater of the major investigation team said: 'Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this very difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers. 'Officers are carrying out several lines of enquiry and there will be a continued visible police presence in the area. Anyone with concerns can speak to these officers. A man who was found dead at a home in Glasgow has been named by police as officers launch a murder probe. Josh Taplin, 28, was discovered after cops were called to a report of a concern for person at a property on Caldwell Avenue in Knightswood at around 3.35pm on Monday. ‌ Ambulance crews attended and Josh's body was found within. ‌ Police say they have now launched a murder inquiry following the death. Their enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Earlier today pictures taken by the Record showed the home cordoned off by police with several officers in attendance. Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie, of the Major Investigation Team, said: 'Our thoughts are with the family of Josh at what is a very difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers. 'It is vital that we find answers for them and we are appealing for information as our enquiries continue. ‌ 'If you were in the area at the time and saw anything that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch, no matter how small that piece of information might be. 'In particular, I am asking people to check private CCTV footage and see if anything has been captured that could be important. Likewise, if you were driving in the area and have dash-cam that could assist, please contact us. 'We believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public. Officers remain in the area and anyone with concerns can speak to them.'
