All There Is To Know About Love Island's Dejon Noel-Williams, Including His Famous Dad's Advice

Love Island might have only started on 9 June, but some of the characters have already made themselves at home in the Majorcan villa. One of which is Dejon Noel-Williams who is not only one of the biggest personalities on the show so far, but he is also one of the biggest heartbreakers. He has been coupled up with Meg Moore since the beginning, but has a penchant for flirting with the new bombshells, much to Meg's dismay. In fact, last week he was at the centre of a showdown between Meg and new girl Malisha (who has already left) because Malisha took Dejon on a date. Earlier this week, Dejon was picked to go to The Sleepover, a new house outside the main villa, by the two new girls and Meg was shown another video of him having a little too much fun over there. As he prepares to return to the main villa tonight, he's bound to face plenty of drama. Here's everything you need to know about Dejon, from his famous father to his career as a semi-pro footballer. Dejon is a fitness fanatic and footballer hoping to find love in the villa this summer. So far he has been coupled up with Meg, but it's only been two weeks so all that stands to change. If you've noticed his ripped body as he struts around the pool, it's courtesy of his gym obsession. Dejon recently completed a Hyrox, just like new boy Will Means, so perhaps they can strike up a friendship (or a training schedule). Dejon works as a semi-pro footballer and personal trainer. One of his recent clients is none other than Tyrique Hyde from Love Island season 10. Dejon has also played football for a number of teams including Oxford United and Slough Town as well as the national team of Grenada. Dejon is one of this year's nepo babies as his dad Gifton Noel-Williams is a former professional footballer. Speaking about growing up around the game, he said: 'I've met all kinds of famous people through [my dad]. When I was younger it was weird because he was just my dad, but we'd go to a game and fans were asking for photos. I've met David Beckham, he was really nice.' Dejon also told Hello! his dad supported his decision to go on Love Island and is behind him all the way. 'He's like my best friend, so he was happy with it. He knows me, he knows my heart. So he has nothing to worry about. He said: 'Just be yourself.' On Love Island, Dejon is looking for 'someone who is beautiful on the inside and out, looks after themselves and is healthy'. Of course, we're yet to come across an islander who doesn't. You can follow him on Instagram at @dejonnoelwilliams. If you're looking to find more than fitness videos and sports brand promotions, you might be a tad disappointed. Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX Nikki Peach is a writer at Grazia UK, working across entertainment, TV and news. She has also written for the i, i-D and the New Statesman Media Group and covers all things pop culture for Grazia (treating high and lowbrow with equal respect).

Majorca struggles as tourist hotspot amid warning of 'sad reality' for UK tourists

British tourists have been warned over the reality of life in the Balearic Islands UK tourists in Majorca have been warned about the "sad reality" behind their dream holidays, which are turning out to be disappointing. European Union holidaymakers are also being cautioned about what to really expect from the Balearic Islands. Taking to Instagram, social media star Olly Bowman warned people of overcrowding at the beaches along the Majorcan coastline. Speaking on a video, he laughed: "The reality of beaches in Mallorca," while panning the camera towards the sand. ‌ He continued: "There is zero space on the sand." Before he took to the water and explained: "All of majorca has these little alcoves of beaches, there's a tiny bit of sand and it's packed with people." ‌ Fans and followers of the vlogger were quick to rush to the comment section, giving their own experiences of over tourism and crowding in holiday hotspots like Majorca, Menorca, Gran Canaria, Ibiza and more, like Lanzarote and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Birmingham Live reports. One Instagram follower wrote: "Guys I understand the mass turism situation in most of Spain but what do you expect turist to do? Of course they will visit to see the beach, him providing the beach name will do NOTHING. It's already well known." As a second, who lived in Mallorca voiced their opinion, stating: "Look, I like your content, but I lived in Mallorca for a few years. I left because of gentrification and mass tourism. These videos don't help at all. The people there can't sustain that, nor can nature." "I simply invite you to reflect on the impact we have on this world, because you really seem like a good guy," they pleaded. ‌ While a third said: "If it's so crowded why do you keep going and sharing posts about it. Imagine for the people living in Mallorca..," Another said: "Mallorca as always being extremely affected by mass tourism, this may be a beautiful beach but it has been ruined for the locals who can't even go down to swim there anymore." A fifth had said that Olly's video showed the "sad reality" of life and holidaying in the Balearics now. The Instagram video gained over 11,000 likes after Olly posted it. ‌ This comes after authorities in Spain's Balearic Islands announced they will stop using social media influencers to promote lesser-known destinations and hidden spots, stating that "selfie tourism" is taking a toll on the region's most popular areas. In an effort to ease the pressure caused by over tourism, officials had hoped that social media influencers - many with hundreds of thousands of followers - could help by encouraging tourists to explore quieter, less-visited areas. The idea was that by showcasing alternative locations, influencers might reduce the crowds at the islands' most popular and overcrowded spots.

Dramatic moment Brit woman saved after being lost at sea for five days

A huge search and operation was deployed for missing Brit, Mary Gavin, last Wednesday after she vanished on a rented boat a day before on the island of Formentera near Ibiza This is the astonishing moment a Brit missing for nearly five days at sea is rescued after making a desperate sign to a passing ship. A huge search and operation was deployed for missing Mary Gavin, 39, last Wednesday, after she vanished on a rented boat a day before on the Mediterranean island of Formentera. Remarkably, she was rescued on Saturday afternoon after a ferry from Palma, Majorca, to the mainland Spanish east coast city of Valencia spotted her and raised the alarm. ‌ One of the passengers on the boat that discovered the Mary and her small boat recalled the stunning moment they neared her as she called out for help, saying: 'She was dehydrated and sunburnt and had mouth sores. The waves complicated the rescue.' ‌ Alejandro Rosera told Majorcan media outlet Cronica Balear: 'When we were about to pass by Formentera, we were told there was an emergency and we had to turn back. 'Later on we saw a woman on board a small boat. She had a life jacket on and another in her hand making gestures. 'It took about 40 minutes to get her onto our ship. The movement of the waves made the rescue more difficult. She had mouth sores and you could tell she was dehydrated so she was given water and a Coca Cola. 'Once we got to Valencia a large number of police and health professionals were waiting for her and assisted her immediately.' News of the 5pm rescue on Saturday of the Brit emerged on Sunday morning when police confirmed Mary had been taken to hospital in Valencia. ‌ The vessel she had lost her way in, a cream-coloured Quicksilver 475 Axess with a Mercury outboard motor which she had hired from a rental firm at Formentera's La Savina Port last Tuesday morning, was towed to Ibiza by coastguards. Police divers had joined the search for her last Thursday after Civil Guard and Spanish coastguards helicopters and boats were mobilised. Speaking on Sunday morning a Civil Guard spokesman said: 'The British woman who vanished after renting a boat in Formentera on Tuesday morning has been found alive.' ‌ The police force had said on Friday in its first official comments about the disappearance: 'The missing woman is a 39-year-old British national who hired the boat in the port of La Savina in Formentera on Tuesday morning. 'She was supposed to return it around 6pm on Wednesday and when she didn't her friends became worried and raised the alarm. From the time she was reported missing on Wednesday evening a search operation was launched which continued throughout the day yesterday. ‌ 'She hasn't been found yet nor has the boat she was on. 'The Civil Guard's Judicial Police unit has been investigating this woman's disappearance but two vessels belonging to our Maritime Unit were mobilised yesterday along with one from the specialist sub-aquatic GEAS unit. 'The officers from the Maritime Unit conduct the searches from speedboats and the GEAS are essentially diving specialists.' A police source said last week the missing woman had been living on one of the Balearic islands for around two months, although it was not immediately clear if the island is Ibiza or Formentera. No more details have been given out by local authorities about what they think went wrong and why the woman ended up adrift and in difficulties.

Tourist visits Majorca's 'best beach' and is hit with sad reality

Majorca is known for having plenty of beaches, making it popular for sun-seekers and tourists. One influencer visited the "best beach in all of Majorca" and was faced with a problem Majorca, famed for its stunning beach resorts, sheltered coves, and crystal clear waters, is a top holiday destination. It's especially popular among Brits – and travel is super easy due to the short journey and affordable flights. However, increasing concerns over the effects of mass tourism are being voiced not only by local residents of Spain but now by tourists themselves. And when an influencer visited the 'best beach in Majorca' recently, this issue was clear. Olly Bowman expressed shock at the sheer number of people crowding a well-known idyllic spot on the Majorcan coastline. ‌ Olly took to Instagram to document his day out. In the short clip, it was clear the sands had become swamped. There was hardly any room to stretch out or stroll, as holidaymakers took up every patch of beach. ‌ In his eye-opening video, he remarked: "There is zero space on the sand." Venturing into the sea for a swim, the influencer initially celebrated the "perfect temperature" of the water but soon realised that it was, in truth, "a bit chillier" than he had anticipated. Olly revealed that to enjoy his time on the beach, he had to get creative. He managed to find a tiny spot for his belongings, but ended up having to sit with his legs propped up against a rock due it being "just so crowded". His Instagram video went viral – and many Majorca locals urged him to remove the beach's name from his post to avoid exacerbating the tourist overflow. One user remarked: "Beautiful! But if you name the beaches they will even be more crowded." ‌ Another said: "Mass tourism in Majorca is destroying fragile areas that should be protected. Please refrain from sharing the names of these beaches and help us preserve them as much as possible." The influencer considerately deleted the beach's name from his caption. He elaborated in the comments section: "Everyone requested I remove the name of the beach, very fair. "I do like to think of myself as someone who can show others cool spots to travel and visit but I see how in this circumstance it's more detrimental than good, so I agree, and have removed the name from the caption." Majorcans celebrated his response, expressing their gratitude, with one replying: "We appreciate it! I'm Mallorcan, enjoy our island!" Further viewers commented with expressions of "thank you", "thanks", and "gracias." The struggle with increased tourism and its impact on the island's beaches is a significant summer issue, as highlighted by another Instagram user who commented: "Thanks for showing reality."

Roof collapses at popular British holiday hotspot airport

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Holidaymakers cheated death this afternoon after a roof collapsed at Majorca's Palma Airport. Glass and other construction debris crashed to the floor of the arrivals lounge at around 4.30pm local time. Airport workers said afterwards it was a 'miracle' no-one had been seriously injured. An investigation into the near miss was underway this evening. Spanish airports authority AENA blamed the collapse on debris from construction work falling onto a glass roof near the entrance to the baggage claim area and bringing it down. A spokesman told local press: 'People in charge of the airport are already analysing what happened in order to adopt the appropriate measures and to determine responsibilities if necessary.' Airport security staff cleared the affected area as holidaymakers watched on from nearby, clearly shocked at the damage that had been done and the fact the collapse could have had fatal consequences. One English-speaking woman could be overheard saying 'Oh my God' as a cloud of dust rose from the ground where part of the roof had fallen. Local Juan Antonio Bauza dubbed Palma Airport 'the worst in Spain' in a social media post this evening. The sports reporter said on X: 'I imagine someone will have to assume responsibility for this.' Renovation works at the airport have been criticised by workers and air passengers. More Trending In January, a falling panel and weather conditions led to dust entering the terminal and complaints. One airport worker told local press at the time: 'Neither employees or passengers could breathe and many people were slipping because of the dust on the ground. 'Having to work in these sorts of conditions is disgraceful.' Another told Majorcan paper Diario de Mallorca: 'Passengers had to put masks on because of the air contamination.'
