Erode Book Festival from August 1 to 12
The district administration, in association with Makkal Sinthanai Peravai, will organise the Erode Book Festival 2025 at Chikkaiah Government Arts and Science College, Veerappanchatiram, from August 1 to 12.
Chairing a review meeting with officials of various departments at the Collectorate recently, Collector S. Kandasamy said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had been taking active steps to promote the habit of book reading among school and college students, youth, and the general public by organising book fairs in every district.
The Collector said such fairs not only helped bring books closer to the public, but also provided a platform for authors to showcase and sell their works. He said book festivals were powerful cultural instruments capable of inspiring positive change in society.
This year's festival will feature 230 stalls, each with a unique theme. Renowned publishers from other states and countries are expected to participate. Special discounts on books will be offered throughout the event, which will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.
Prominent speakers and scholars will deliver lectures and interact with visitors during the festival. The Collector urged all departments to work in coordination to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event and encouraged enthusiastic participation from students and the public.
