Five schools still waiting for promised RM30mil fund
A RM30mil allocation for five Tamil schools should be distributed without delay after it was announced two years ago, said the body that oversees these institutions, Makkal Osai reported.
Malaysian Tamil Schools Trustee Boards Council secretary-general Subramaniam Ragavan said the allocation was confirmed by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's special duties officer Shanmugam Mookan at the council's national conference last year.
The fund was first announced two years ago on June 10, 2023 by the Prime Minister himself during an event in Shah Alam.
> A man in India, who has been estranged from his wife and daughters, has given the deeds to all his properties to a temple, Makkal Osai also reported.
Officials at the Arulmigu Renugambal Amman temple in Tamil Nadu were surprised to find the deeds to a piece of land and a house in the box.
They were approached by S. Vijayan, 65, who told them he intended to donate his properties to his favourite temple.
He had been living alone for 10 years after a disagreement with his wife and his daughters, but claimed they recently begun pestering him to transfer his properties to them.
