Off-White's IB Kamara, designer Torishéju Dumi receive honorary doctorates from Central Saint Martins

Stylist and Off-White creative director IB Kamara and Nigerian-Brazilian fashion designer Torishéju Dumi are among a distinguished line-up of creatives to receive honorary doctorates from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (UAL). IB Kamara, 'a British multi-hyphenate creative based in London' and a Central Saint Martins alum, currently serves as creative director for Off-White, editor-in-chief of Dazed, and a consulting stylist with numerous brands including Chanel and Kenzo. Mentored by the late Barry Kamen, Kamara has worked as costume stylist on Sampha's short film 'Process', directed by Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar, and in 2017, he styled a Stella McCartney campaign for the brand's #StellaBy collaboration. He has also styled editorials, campaigns and runway shows for brands including Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Nike and Ferragamo. Meanwhile Torishéju Dumi 'one of the industry's most promising young talents' is a graduate of University of the Arts London. She worked at Celine during Phoebe Philo 's tenure and at Ann Demeulemeester. A graduate of Lee Alexander McQueen 's Sarabande Foundation, Torishéju launched her signature label in 2022. She released her first collection, Mami Wata, in 2023 and made her Paris Fashion Week debut with her Spring/Summer 2024 collection. In all, the 12 recipients of this year's UAL honorary awards included influential creatives and artists across fields including fashion, theatre, video game development, sustainability, cosmetic science, curation, fine art, education and activism.
