Kangana Ranaut reacts to Pawan Kalyan calling her ‘stronger' actor than Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra
Actor and Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, is busy promoting his recent release, Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The actor, who is known for famously not taking part in film promotions, chose a different strategy for his first film as a politician. In a rapid-fire with Hauterrfly, Pawan picked Kangana Ranaut as his ideal co-star over Priyanka Chopra or Kareena Kapoor. The Mandi MP reacted to Pawan calling her a 'stronger' actor. Pawan Kalyan stated that he's impressed with Kangana Ranaut's performance in Emergency. Pawan Kalyan wants to act with Kangana Ranaut During the rapid-fire round, Pawan was asked if he would rather act with Alia Bhatt or Deepika Padukone. Calling it a 'difficult choice', he picked both. When asked between Alia, Deepika and Kriti Sanon, Pawan smiled and picked all three. But between Alia, Deepika, Kriti and Kiara Advani, Pawan seemed to make up his mind while picking Kriti. Pawan was then asked if he would rather work with Kriti or Kangana Ranaut, and he answered Kangana. He also picked Kangana when asked to choose between her and Priyanka Chopra. When it came to Kareena Kapoor and Kangana, Pawan felt it depended on the film. However, he added, 'I still feel…looking at how she portrayed Indira Gandhi (in Emergency), I think I should go with the stronger person, Kangana Ranaut.' Reacting to the rapid-fire, Kangana reshared it on her Instagram stories with folded hands and loving emojis. The only female actor who managed to beat Kangana as Pawan's favourite potential co-star was his brother Chiranjeevi's Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari co-star, the late Sridevi. When asked to choose between Kangana and Sridevi, Pawan replied with a smile, 'This one, Sridevi, of course.' Kangana Ranaut re-shared Pawan Kalyan's rapid-fire on her Instagram stories. Recent work Kangana, who debuted with the 2006 film Gangster and acted in only one Telugu film in her career, the 2009 Prabhas-starrer Ek Niranjan, was last seen in Emergency, which she also directed and produced. Pawan, who was last seen in the 2023 film Bro, was seen in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which was released in theatres last week in all south Indian languages. The film has yet to be released in Hindi. He will soon star in They Call Him OG and Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

The Night Agent actress Arienne Mandi joins Chicago PD as series regular for Season 13
Washington DC [US], July 23 (ANI): 'The Night Agent' actress Arienne Mandi has joined the cast of 'Chicago PD' as a series regular for Season 13, reported Deadline. According to Deadline, Mandi will play Chicago P.D. officer Naomi Kerr. She is a former soldier and military contractor who is said to thrive in dangerous situations. The actress character in the series is described as a fearless outsider who keeps her cards close to the vest. Names and character descriptions could be changed at any stage of production, reported Deadline. Chicago P.D. follows the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city's most heinous offences, which include organised crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond. According to Deadline, Naomi arrives at a particularly chaotic time for the team, following the murder of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy), orchestrated by Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe). Although Detective Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Officer Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) are off the hook for the latter's affair with his CI and the former covering it up, there's no telling what the fallout will be just yet. LaRoyce Hawkins and Patrick Flueger also star in this thriller series. Meanwhile, Toya Turner has exited the NBC police procedural as Kiana Cook and will not appear in Season 13. "I'm grateful for the time I had bringing Kiana to life. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me so warmly," said Toya Turner as quoted by Deadline. Mandi currently stars in Season 2 of Netflix's 'The Night Agent'. She co-stars in Guy Nattiv's award-winning feature 'Tatami', which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. 'The Night Agent' actress will next be seen starring opposite Jon Hamm in season 2 of Apple TV 's 'Your Friends & Neighbours'. (ANI)

Puppy helps over 60 villagers escape catastrophic landslide: 'Without him, we might not be here'
In the quiet village of Siyathi in Himachal Pradesh, a small dog made an extraordinary difference, according to The Hindu. When devastating cloudbursts unleashed flash floods and landslides across India's Mandi district on the night of June 30, a sleeping puppy became an unlikely hero. By simply listening to his instincts — and letting out a howl that roused the entire neighborhood — this 5-month-old dog, reportedly named Rocky, helped save more than 60 people from being buried under rubble. According to The Hindu, the region experienced 10 cloudbursts that triggered a chain of deadly events. At least 15 people died, five were injured, and 27 remain missing. Entire homes were flattened. Over 1,100 houses were damaged, nearly 800 livestock were killed, and essential infrastructure — including roads, water lines, and transformers — crumbled in the storm. But amid the chaos, a moment of precision: A family dog, on the second floor of a home, began barking and howling uncontrollably. Awakened by the commotion, his owner, Narender, got up to investigate — and found a massive crack in the wall, with water beginning to seep through. Narender wasted no time. He ran to alert his neighbors, urging everyone to evacuate. Just moments later, a landslide ripped through the area, destroying much of what had stood just minutes before. Thanks to Rocky's warning, dozens of villagers made it out alive. This remarkable story reminds us that resilience — and sometimes even lifesaving support — can come from unexpected places. Dogs are known to detect subtle environmental cues, including shifts in air pressure, ground vibrations, and scents, long before humans can. While not every pet will save a village, this moment underscores the very real connections among animals, humans, and the ecosystems we share. As climate-driven disasters grow more frequent and intense, such stories highlight how early warnings — whether from sophisticated tech or a howling pup — can mean the difference between life and loss. They also emphasize the importance of community readiness, resilient infrastructure, and disaster planning. Union Minister J.P. Nadda, who visited the site shortly after the disaster, affirmed that the government is committed to supporting affected families. According to his remarks, over ₹2,000 crore was released to aid in ongoing relief efforts, and more support is on the way. But for the people of Siyathi, the most immediate and unforgettable help came from one furry friend. While the recovery process will take time, this community — with the help of one very good dog — is already a symbol of hope, quick action, and the strength it takes to move forward.
