Lucknow: Promising a sensory delight, the much-awaited Mango Mahotsav 2025 is set to enthrall mango lovers, farmers, exporters and culture enthusiasts alike from July 4 to July 6 at Avadh Shilp Gram, Avadh Vihar Yojna. Organised by the department of horticulturethe festival, to be inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath, will showcase hundreds of colourful mango varieties carefully selected from orchards across India. From the luscious Dussehri and Langda of Uttar Pradesh to Alphonso, Kesar, and other regional favourites, the exhibition will celebrate the incredible biodiversity of the country's mango heritage. The festival will feature competitions across seven categories and 58 sections. Over 800 mango varieties will be showcased by various institutions, departments and private producers. A total of 2,853 samples will be exhibited by 1,449 participants, including 2,502 from 1,341 contestants in different mango species and 351 from 108 contenders in the preserved product category. He will flag off the export of the state's mangoes to international markets, including London and Dubai, release a souvenir, and honour the progressive mango producers. A buyer-seller conference and technical sessions will also be held to discuss safe mango harvesting, post-harvest management, marketing, and export, said minister of state for horticulture Dinesh Pratap Singh. The event will feature several exciting attractions, including a seminar for mango farmers, buyers, and exporters to discuss new techniques and trends, a showcase of various mango varieties and innovative recipes, a fun mango-eating competition for visitors, a daily cultural performances adding to the festive atmosphere and a special poetry recitation by Kumar Vishwas on July 5 at 6 pm, celebrating culture and creativity.
