Manisha Kabbur is Karnataka's first female international karate coach
Haveri: Manisha Kabbur, hailing from Byadagi, achieved distinction as Karnataka's first woman to become an international karate coach. She possesses a 3rd-degree black belt with Japanese certification and has completed international coaching examinations.
Her educational background includes a BE in civil engineering and an MTech in construction management.
Her impressive martial arts career includes numerous medals at national and international competitions, establishing her as a notable presence in Indian karate. She began her karate journey in 1999 at the age 4, training under Narayan Pujar. She got her black belt in 2003 when she was just 8 years old. Her achievements include victories in 9 state-level and 8 national-level karate championships.
She secured her second-degree black belt from the Karate Association of India, followed by a third-degree certification from Japan after intensive training. Her accolades include a gold medal at the All India Independence Cup Championship in New Delhi and a silver medal at an international competition in Japan.
Beyond karate, Manisha holds a PG diploma in Yogic Science and Ayurvedic Food Nutrition. She currently serves as a yoga instructor in Byadagi.

Despite Byadagi's limited sporting facilities and educational challenges for girls, Manisha overcame obstacles through family and mentor support to excel in her karate pursuits.
"Manisha is an enthusiastic girl. She has been eager to learn and adopt skills in karate excellently since her childhood. She cracked the toughest exam of an international karate coach held by the World Karate Federation (WKF) recently.
It's a proud moment for us. Manisha is a committed woman. She can achieve anything if she wants. She is giving free karate coaching in Byadagi for primary and high school girls regularly," lauded Narayan Pujar, a karate trainer and her mentor.
"I aimed to achieve something in karate at the international level. With the support of my parents and mentors, I did it. Girls in the Haveri district get karate training at least at a basic level because it is required for their self-defence. I am working in this regard," said Manisha Kabbur.
