Gurdwaras to get a facelift in Sangam City

Prayagraj: Following the successful beautification and revamp of several key temples in preparation for Maha Kumbh, the initiative is now set to encompass prominent gurdwaras in the city. The tourism department will lead the beautification efforts, aiming to enhance the city's appeal and boost tourism. Gurudwara Pakki Sangat , historically significant as the oldest in the city and a site where Guru Teg Bahadur stayed with his disciples in 1660, will be the first to undergo beautification. Building on the successful beautification of mythologically significant temples like Nagvasuki, Mankameshwar, and Dashashwamedh ahead of Maha Kumbh, the state govt is now set to beautify prominent gurudwaras. The initiative will see the use of red sandstone, installation of sheds, and addition of benches for tourists. Department officials are set to meet Mahant Gyan Singh, chief sevadar of Gurudwara Pakki Sangat, to finalise plans for its beautification. Following this, similar work will commence at Gurudwara Khuldabad, with future plans to beautify additional gurudwaras in Alopibagh, Mirapur, Sadiapur, Manauri and Naini. The department aims to develop these sites as tourism hubs, with an action plan for Pakki Sangat to be prepared and approved before work begins.
