Body of missing man fished out of pond

Buxar: The body of a 36-year-old man was fished out of a pond at Charitravan under the jurisdiction of Buxar town police station on Thursday morning. The deceased, identified as Manoranjan Kumar, aka Manish, a resident of Ward 5, was reported missing since late Wednesday evening. Local residents first discovered the body in the pond near a Kali temple and informed local ward councillor Deepak Singh, who in turn alerted police. Town SHO Manoj Kumar Singh reached the spot with a team and supervised the recovery operation. The body was sent to Buxar Sadar Hospital for a postmortem examination. "The exact cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report is received. It is too early to confirm whether it was a case of murder or something else," said the SHO.
