NFL analyst compares Jalen Hurts to a 'Porsche' when describing Eagles usage of star QB
In a recent episode of Good Morning Football, former Notre Dame and NFL linebacker, as well as NFL Network analyst, Manti Te'o, compared the Super Bowl MVP to a Porsche Jalen Hurts has drawn many comparisons, but none as accurate as the one former Notre Dame star linebacker and NFL Network analyst Manti Te'o came up with for the Eagles star. During a recent episode of Good Morning Football, the former Notre Dame and NFL linebacker compared the Super Bowl MVP to a Porsche. "Jalen Hurts is a Porsche and the Eagles use him like a Porsche" Hurts led the Eagles to a 15-2 (.882) record in games he started and finished last season (including playoffs). Since 2022, Hurts is 42-12 (.778) as a starting QB, which marks the 2nd-best winning percentage in the NFL, trailing only Patrick Mahomes (.828, 48-10). Last season, Hurts finished the regular season with career highs in completion percentage (68.7%) and passer rating (103.7), while leading all quarterbacks with 14 rushing TDs (T-5th overall). He is the first player with 13+ rushing TDs in three straight years since LaDainian Tomlinson (six, 2002-07).

NFL analyst boldy suggests New York Giants have pass rush duo just as nasty as Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware
There has already been considerable hype about the potential of the New York Giants' pass rush in 2025. NFL Network analyst Manti Te'o added to it this week with a bold claim comparing what the team has to some of the great pass rush duos of this century. The 2024 edition of the Giants was again a disappointment. But their pass rush deserved respect due to the addition of former Carolina Panthers star Brian Burns. Then in April, the team selected, arguably, the best all-around talent in Penn State QB terrorizer Abdul Carter. However, on NFL Network's 'Good Morning Football' this week, former Chargers and Notre Dame star Manti Te'o made a bold claim about how good the combo of Burns and the rookie can be this season. 'The Giants got a really good rookie out of Penn State, named Abdul Carter, but you pair him with Brian Burns, there's something about when you have two dynamic defensive ends and how they complement each other,' Te'o began by saying. 'I remember we had Melvin Ingram with the Chargers. And Melvin was a really dominant, physical player. Melvin didn't get his first Pro Bowl until Joey Bosa came into the picture. We can go back to DeMarcus Ware-Von Miller, Dwight Freeney-Robert Mathis, Justin Houston-Tamba Hali. When you have two guys on the edge–the Pittsburgh Steelers have it right now, where they complement each other–it's a nightmare for offenses.' Advertisement Ware signed with the Broncos in 2014 after being a seven-time Pro Bowler with the Cowboys. He had a strong debut season, posting 10 sacks. However, he perfectly complemented rising star Miller, and he added 14 sacks of his own that year. In 2004, the combo of Freeney and Mathis tallied 26.5 sacks for the Colts. In 2013, the pair of Houston and Hali put up a combined 22 sacks for the Chiefs that year. If the G-Men can get those sorts of numbers from just two players this season, New York fans would be thrilled. Former Notre Dame stars Manti Te'o and Todd Lyght are on the ballot for the CFB HOF
Former Notre Dame stars Manti Te'o and Todd Lyght are on the ballot for the CFB HOF When you think of legendary Notre Dame football players, linebacker Manti Te'o and cornerback Todd Lyght are two great examples. On Tuesday, both of them made the ballot to make the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame. The Irish already have multiple players enshrined like Raghib 'Rocket' Ismail, Ara Parseghian, Knute Rockne, Joe Theismann and others. Te'o's Irish career was one of the most decorated for a linebacker, winning the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, Lott Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Butkus Award and the Lombardi Award all in 2012. He was a unanimous All-American in 2012, along with being a second-team All-American in 2011. Lyght was a unanimous All-American in 1989, and then a consensus All-American in 1990, as a three-year started and captain during his senior year. He made an immediate impact as a freshman for the Irish, earning a starting spot his second-year on campus. Lyght was a big part in Notre Dame's 1988 championship team. Both Te'o and Lyght have the credentials to make the HOF, and hopefully they are voted in as Notre Dame's list continues to grow.
