Montreal police investigating a suspicious death on Lacordaire Boulevard

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating a suspicious death that occurred Sunday morning. A 911 call at around 4 a.m. alerted emergency services to a man lying unconscious on Lacordaire Boulevard, near the intersection with Jarry Street, in the Saint-Léonard borough. 'When police arrived at the scene, they located a man with an upper body wound, possibly caused by a sharp object. Despite attempts to resuscitate him, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene,' said SPVM spokesperson Manuel Couture. The victim's identity has not been released at this time. 'The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently unknown,' said the SPVM spokesperson. 'A large security perimeter has been established. Investigators (from the SPVM) are on their way to the scene,' added Couture, one hour after the gruesome discovery. A section of Lacordaire Boulevard was closed in both directions near Jarry Street. The SPVM investigation is ongoing.

Montreal police (SPVM) received several 911 calls at 11 a.m. about 'a fight involving several people' on the corner of Atwater Avenue and Delisle Street. 'On arrival, police located two victims, a man aged 35, and another man aged 48, with significant upper body injuries,' said Manuel Couture, a spokesperson with Montreal police. They were transferred to hospital, and officers are awaiting updates on their situations. A 23-year-old man was arrested nearby. 'Initial reports suggest that, for unknown reasons, an altercation broke out between three people,' said Couture. 'The suspect [allegedly] stabbed the two victims with a sharp object of unknown nature.' A security perimeter has been established to allow investigators to canvass the scene.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 10 p.m. about an incident involving 'several individuals' on the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Montcalm streets. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the victim. 'He was injured to the upper body with a sharp object,' said Manuel Couture, a spokesperson with Montreal police. Officers also pursued a suspect, who had fled on foot upon their arrival. 'He was arrested not far from the scene,' said Couture. 'He had to be subdued with a stun gun.' The two were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A security perimeter was established to allow investigators to canvass the scene.
