Minnesota Rep. Kristin Bahner reveals she was 4th lawmaker visited by Vance Boelter

Minnesota Rep. Kristin Bahner reveals she was 4th lawmaker visited by Vance Boelter originally appeared on Bring Me The News. Rep. Kristin Bahner (DFL-Maple Grove) has revealed herself as the fourth Minnesota lawmaker whose home was visited by Vance Boelter on the night he allegedly assassinated Melissa and Mark Hortman, crediting "divine intervention" with sparing her family from the same tragedy. "The past several days have been surrounded by so much grief and fear. This senseless violence came to my door as well, placing me and my family in harm's way," Bahner said in a statement Wednesday. "I do not know why this man was filled with such hatred that he would come to my door; divine intervention led my family to change our plans keeping us safe." Federal charged filed against suspect Vance Boelter allege that he visited the homes of two other legislators early Saturday after he shot and wounded state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in Champlin and before he killed the Hortmans in Brooklyn Park. The other was Sen. Ann Rest (DFL-New Hope), who thanked police for saving her life by stopping by her house to perform a wellness check immediately following the attack on the Hoffmans. Before parking outside of Rest's home and being scared off by a New Hope officer, Boelter rang Bahner's doorbell in Maple Grove, but no one was home, according to prosecutors. 'There is no answer to this senseless violence," Bahner said. "I know Melissa would have grounded us in how we come together to lean on one another, find a way to lift each other up, and strengthen Minnesota for all of our neighbors." Bahner plans to honor Melissa Hortman's legacy by remaining steadfast in her resolve to serve District 37B in north Hennepin County and work to improve the lives of all Minnesotans. 'We will not let fear or division win," Bahner said. "Melissa has set a high bar, placing the work in our hands to make the world a better place.' Maple Grove native Isaac Collins reflects on budding MLB career

The Collins Crew took over Target Field in this past weekend to see one of their own. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Isaac Collins is from Maple Grove, Minnesota, and is in his first full year in the big leagues. "I just remind myself each day that this isn't here forever," said Collins. "You gotta take it one day at a time and soak it all in and have fun with it." Collins played college baseball at Creighton, then was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 9th round in 2019. It took a while for him to get to the MLB level. Now, at age 27, he's been stacking big moments for Milwaukee. His batting average was at .254 following the Twins series, and he has become a fixture in the lineup. "Five-and-a-half years or so in the minor leagues. A lot of sleepless nights. A lot of questioning if this is the right path and if I should be doing something else," reflected Collins. "But I just stuck with it and kept taking it one day at a time. Made the adjustments whenever they needed to be made, and it paid off." Collins was one of the best Minnesota prep athletes of his era. He graduated from Maple Grove High School in 2016. Besides baseball, he was also a dominant running back. "A lot of good memories," said Collins, of his football career in which he was a Mr. Football finalist in 2015. "Definitely would not be here without those moments. Coach [Matt] Lombardi was one of the best coaches I've had. Very integral part in who I am as a person and as an athlete." The weekend in Minnesota was good for Collins. He had four hits and three RBIs in front of dozens of supporters. Not as happy an outcome for fellow 2016 Mr. Baseball finalist (and winner) and current Twin Matt Wallner. "We played against each other since we were 10-11 years old," smiled Collins. "Forest Lake kid. I always remember him. He was the tallest kid on their team, and he threw gas when we were 11 years old. He's been killing it. Having a great career so far. I played Michael Busch the other day. It's always cool to see other Minneapolis kids in the big leagues."

24-Acre Minnetonka Complex Put Up for Sale by Boston Scientific (BSX)

Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX) is one of the best stocks to buy. On June 10, the company announced that it is selling one suburban Twin Cities property and expanding another, mirroring a pattern of companies centralizing in fewer but more dynamic sites. BSX has placed its 226,000 square foot Minnetonka campus on the market, indicating the wind-down of its presence in that suburb. Meanwhile, it is enlarging its Maple Grove operations with a new 52,000 square foot buildout at its 79-acre Weaver Lake location. That $139.4 million development seems relatively small beside Boston Scientific's second Maple Grove site, which is a $170 million, 400,000 square foot facility where staff are expected to begin moving in before year's end. Though no asking price is listed, county records place the combined 2025 value of four adjacent parcels at $14.8 million. Boston Scientific employed around 10,000 people in Minnesota as of March, including sites in Minnetonka, Maple Grove, and a sizable Arden Hills facility. The number of employees has roughly doubled over 15 years. Despite its Massachusetts roots, the company runs all eight of its divisions in Minnesota, including its flagship cardiology arm. The company did not respond to specific queries about the Minnetonka sale, including the functions housed there or implications for workforce downsizing. The real estate listing indicates the company may lease the site until mid-2026 but plans a complete exit thereafter. Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX), a global player in medical device innovation, operates through its Cardiovascular and MedSurg segments to deliver advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. How the attacks in Minnesota unfolded over 90 minutes

June 16 - Within an hour and a half early on Saturday in Minnesota, a Democratic state representative and her husband had been shot dead and another Democratic lawmaker and his wife were gravely wounded by a man who arrived at their homes disguised as a police officer. Vance Boelter, 57, faces state and federal murder charges in the fatal shooting of Melissa Hortman, the top Democrat in the Minnesota House, and her husband, Mark, in their home in New Hope, Minnesota, on Saturday. Boelter is also charged with shooting and wounding another Democratic lawmaker, state Senator John Hoffman, and his wife Yvette, in their home in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The following timeline of movements of the accused early on Saturday is based on a federal affidavit. 2:06 a.m. The Hoffmans' daughter calls 911 to report her parents had been shot. Video footage from their home in New Hope earlier showed a man wearing a black tactical vest and mask that covered his entire head at their door with a flashlight, knocking and shouting "This is the police. Open the door." 2:24 a.m. Video footage from surveillance cameras at the Maple Grove home of an unnamed public official shows a man ringing the doorbell and repeatedly shouting "This is the police. Open the door. This is the police. We have a warrant." No one was home. 2:36 a.m. A police officer conducting a safety check at the home of another public official in New Hope sees a man, now alleged to have been the suspect, sitting in a black SUV down the street. The police officer believed the man was another officer. The man sat staring straight ahead and did not respond when the officer tried to speak with him. 3:30 a.m. Police officers who had by now learned of the shooting of the Hoffmans arrive at the Hortmans' home for a safety check and see a man at the front door. The man fires gunshots as he entered the home and then escapes, leaving a black SUV behind. 6:18 a.m. Boelter sends a group text to his wife and other family members that includes the message: "Dad went to war last night."
