MLB Celebrates Aaron Judge's Latest Record in Viral Post

MLB Celebrates Aaron Judge's Latest Record in Viral Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Aaron Judge didn't need to pose or flip his bat. For the New York Yankees captain, breaking records is just business as usual. Saturday, in a loss to the Cubs, Judge hammered a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth and he trotted the bases like it was business as usual. Advertisement But this one wasn't. That home run, his 35th of the season, was the 350th of his career. And it came in just 1,088 games, making Judge the fastest player in MLB history to reach that milestone. MLB recognized it almost instantly, posting the feat on its social media channels before Judge even got back to the dugout. The crowd at Yankee Stadium gave him a long ovation. His teammates gave him space. Judge, as always, kept it moving. He passed legends on the way to 350—guys like Mark McGwire (1,280 games), Juan Gonzalez (1,298), Alex Rodriguez (1,301), and Albert Pujols (1,320). Judge cleared that bar with room to spare, continuing a streak of milestone moments that seem to arrive quicker every year. Advertisement He was the fastest to 250. Fastest to 300. Now fastest to 350. And he's still going. Judge's numbers at the break are ridiculous: 35 homers, a slugging percentage pushing .700, and an OPS over 1.100. It's another reminder that, when healthy, there may not be another power hitter in the game who dominates quite like this. At 33, Judge is putting up numbers that put him on track to chase down just about every milestone on the board. If he keeps this up, 400 and 500 won't take long. He made it look routine. But the numbers say otherwise. No one's ever done it this fast This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 12, 2025, where it first appeared.

Athletics' Brent Rooker to Participate in 2025 Home Run Derby

Athletics slugger Brent Rooker is adding his name to the list of Home Run Derby participants. Rooker announced Thursday that he's participating in the event, which takes place Monday in Atlanta. "Competing in the Home Run Derby has always been a dream of mine," Rooker said in an Instagram post. "Can't wait to make it happen next week in Atlanta! See ya there!" He will become the first Athletics player in the Home Run Derby since Matt Olson in 2021 – Olson hit 23 home runs in the event, but didn't make it out of the first round. Rooker, 30, entered Thursday with a .270 batting average, 19 homers and 50 RBIs, putting him on pace for a third straight season of at least 30 homers. He went deep 30 times in 2023 and had 39 long balls in 2024. His 58 homers since the start of the 2024 season rank him third among all American League players, behind Aaron Judge (92) and Cal Raleigh (70), and seventh overall in MLB. The only A's to win the Derby were Mark McGwire in 1992 and Yoenis Cespedes in both 2013 and 2014. Other announced participants include Atlanta's Ronald Acuña Jr., Minnesota's Byron Buxton, Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero, Pittsburgh's Oneil Cruz, Seattle's Cal Raleigh and Washington's James Wood. Yankees' Aaron Judge joins Mark McGwire in history books with room to spare

The post Yankees' Aaron Judge joins Mark McGwire in history books with room to spare appeared first on ClutchPoints. The New York Yankees beat the Athletics 12-5 on Sunday to take the series. Jazz Chisholm Jr started the scoring for New York with a homer and bases-clearing triple. Once the gate was opened, Yankees captain Aaron Judge broke them down with two homers. The second was Judge's 3oth of the year, marking the fourth time he's reached that plateau before the All-Star Break. According to Katie Strang of Stathead, that puts Judge and Mark McGwire alone together in the history books. Advertisement 'Players to hit 30+ HR before the All-Star Break 4 times in a career: Aaron Judge. Mark McGwire,' Strang posted. It came in response to a post by WFAN's Emmanuel Berbari, who outlined the four times Judge has reached 30 before mid-July. '2017: 30, 2022: 33, 2024: 34, 2025: 30 (so far … ),' Berbari posted, in part. The Yankees have gone cold offensively of late, and Judge has not been immune to that. From June 13 through Saturday, he was hitting .182 with a .690 OPS and just three homers. But a hot summer Sunday at the Stadium finally pushed Judge to 30. With 13 games to go before the All-Star Break, Judge could add to his total. The Yankees are still atop the American League East despite their 6-10 record since June 13. But the Tampa Bay Rays have closed the gap considerably and end Sunday just 1.5 games back. And this will all change this week, when the Yankees visit the Blue Jays for four games. Toronto is three games back. As Judge goes, the Yankees go. When he was hitting .392 to start the year, they were 42-25. As Judge struggled in Boston and beyond, the team could not get off the ground. With big sets coming between now and the break, they hope Judge's slump is over.
