Lisa Breaks Her Tie With Jennie And Matches Rosé
Every week that Maroon 5 and Lisa's collaboration 'Priceless' holds on Billboard's pop radio charts, the tune makes history in one way or another. The combined star power of both acts ensured that the duet reached all three of the company's airplay rosters focused on pop music, and it hasn't faded from them in the months since it dropped. For the most part, 'Priceless' is still climbing, as it scores another week on the most competitive of the three lists. Lisa breaks out of a tie with one of her Blackpink bandmates and matches another member of the group for a slightly better position in the ranking's annals this week. 12 Weeks on the Pop Airplay Chart 'Priceless' jumps from No. 19 to No. 18, returning to its all-time peak on the Pop Airplay chart. As of this frame, the collaboration has spent 12 weeks somewhere on the tally. As it makes it to that milestone, 'Priceless' reaches the same level as 'Toxic Till the End' by fellow Blackpink musician Rosé. Both cuts have now lived on the list for a dozen periods. The two tracks are currently tied as the fourth-longest-charting hits of all time by K-pop female soloists on the Pop Airplay ranking. Lisa Pushes Past Jennie Last week, Lisa was tied with Blackpink's Jennie, as her semi-namesake track 'Like Jennie' racked up 11 weeks on the Pop Airplay chart before falling away. Now, 'Priceless' moves ahead, pushing 'Like Jennie' outside the top five on the list of the sturdiest cuts by female K-pop soloists. Lisa May Continue to Make History with 'Priceless' 'Priceless' will almost surely pass 'Toxic Till the End' in the coming days, as it seems unlikely the tune will fall from No. 18 to somewhere outside the top 40 on the Pop Airplay chart. Lisa still has weeks to go before advancing again on the list, however, as Jennie's other radio smash 'One of the Girls' with The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp disappeared after 15 weeks on the radio roster. The all-time record for the longest stay on the Pop Airplay chart by a female K-pop soloist belongs to Rosé's 'Apt.,' which benefited from a feature by Bruno Mars. That cut remained on the top 40 roster for 28 weeks, while Lisa's own 'Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)' holds steady in the runner-up spot with 19 weeks on the tally to its credit.

Maroon 5 star Adam Levine SUED over Instagram post urging fans to give hurricane relief donations
Adam Levine is facing a federal lawsuit over an Instagram post he shared in 2019 urging support for Hurricane Dorian victims. According to court documents, obtained by Billboard, filed earlier this week, the Maroon 5 frontman, 46, allegedly included copyrighted video footage of storm damage in the Bahamas without permission from the owner. The lawsuit, brought by Global Weather Productions LLC, claims Levine used footage taken in the Abacos Islands, one of the hardest-hit areas during the storm, without securing a proper license. The video was originally published on September 3, 2019, by 'professional storm chaser' Michael Brandon Clement and, according to the lawsuit, is owned by Global Weather Productions, a licensing company that has filed multiple similar suits in recent years. Levine allegedly shared the video three days later in a September 6, 2019, Instagram post, which highlighted the devastation caused by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas and Carolinas. He also urged his followers to donate to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. But Global Weather Productions says the charitable intent doesn't excuse what it views as a clear case of copyright infringement. 'As a musician and author, defendant has significant experience in copyright matters and is familiar with specific practices including the need to ensure that content used in his posts has been properly licensed,' the lawsuit states. 'As a content creator himself, defendant should be particularly sensitive to the unauthorized use of his works.' The company says it made several attempts earlier this year to contact Levine's team in order to resolve the issue outside of court. According to the complaint, Global Weather Productions reached out in April and followed up again in May, but reportedly never received a response. 'Despite plaintiff's efforts and willingness to address defendant's infringing activity, defendant failed to respond, and plaintiff was forced to seek judicial intervention for defendant's infringing activity,' the suit claims. Now, the company is seeking damages that could total up to $150,000 under federal copyright law. Global Weather Productions has filed dozens of similar lawsuits since 2023, targeting both major media outlets, including Reuters, Univision, and NewsNation and public figures such as model Molly Sims. As of now, Levine has not publicly responded to the lawsuit. Daily Mail has reached out to Levine's representatives, but they have not yet responded. In addition to trying to help raise funds for Hurricane Dorian victims, Levine has been involved in various charitable endeavors from supporting youth mental health to U.S. education programs. Earlier this month, he celebrated his 11th wedding anniversary with wife Behati Prinsloo. The couple share two daughters, Dusty Rose and Gio Grace, six, as well as a two-year-old son, whose name has not been publicly revealed.

Lisa Matches Her Bandmate Jennie For A Spot In Radio History
Lisa and Maroon 5's 'Priceless' hits 11 weeks on the Pop Airplay chart, tying Jennie's 'Like Jennie' ... More as the fifth-longest charting female K-pop soloist hit. (Photo by Gilbert Flores/Variety via Getty Images) When Lisa teamed up with Maroon 5 for the band's single "Priceless," both acts surely knew they were headed for a hit on the Billboard charts. The Blackpink singer is one of the most famous women in the music industry, and her popularity alone would likely have been enough to turn the collaboration into a major win. Anticipation for Maroon 5's new chapter was also high, and radio programmers and DJs throughout the United States depend on the Grammy-winning act to produce the kind of smashes that people love to hear over and over, and it's common for the group's latest release to be put into heavy rotation. Months after "Priceless" arrived, the track is still present on a number of Billboard's airplay charts. As it holds on once more on the most competitive pop tally, Lisa matches one of her bandmates for a spot in the history books. Lisa Matches Her Blackpink Bandmate Jennie "Priceless" has now lived on the Pop Airplay chart for 11 weeks. As it reaches that landmark figure, Lisa's collaboration with Maroon 5 ties as the fifth-longest-running hit by a female K-pop solo musician in the history of the list. Lisa's poppy cut is now on the same level as "Like Jennie" by, appropriately, Jennie, who is also a member of Blackpink. 'Priceless' Will Likely Live on for Weeks While "Like Jennie" fell off the Pop Airplay ranking after 11 weeks, the same fate doesn't seem likely for "Priceless." Lisa and Maroon 5 are steady at No. 19 on the 40-spot roster at the moment, so even if the tune begins to drop, it will likely hold on for at least another frame or two…or perhaps many more. Rosé, Jennie and Lisa The longest run by any female K-pop soloist on the Pop Airplay chart is held by Rosé, yet another Blackpink superstar. Her team-up with Bruno Mars, 'Apt.,' lived on the list for 28 frames – almost 10 weeks longer than any other track that fits this description. In between that hit and both "Priceless" and "Like Jennie" come "Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)" by Lisa (19 weeks), "One of the Girls" by The Weeknd, Jennie, and Lily-Rose Depp (15 weeks), and "Toxic Till the End," another tune from Rosé's debut solo album Rosie, which managed 12 weeks on the roster. Lisa will likely pass Jennie's semi-self-titled cut and tie Rosé's "Toxic Till the End" in short order, and she could advance beyond that level in a week or so.

King of K-pop
THE year was 2018 when G-Dragon withdrew himself from the spotlight. Upon the release of his solo, self-titled album Kwon Ji Yong, he enlisted in the military, and the King of K-pop took a break from his solo activities to fulfil his mandatory national service as well as explore other pursuits. Seven years is a long time, more so in the ultra-fluid and now, after seven years, G-Dragon returns to reclaim his throne with the release of his third album and current world tour Ubermensch. For a change, Malaysia was not left out of the tour itinerary and fans got to experience the 36-year-old's electrifying brand of pop at the Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil. The Korean superstar performed melodies across his catalogue for over 20,000 attendees in celebration of his musical renaissance. Evening of passion He may not have performed much these past few years, but G-Dragon very much maintained his calibre on stage. The Big Bang's rapper-in-chief innate ability to put on a great show shone throughout the whole evening. Attendees were occupied with electrifying performances of fan favourites. From songs off of his 2012 EP One of a Kind to Ubermensch, G-Dragon consistently delivered powerful vocals, strong stage charisma and relentless energy. His performance of Today was particularly memorable as he got on a signature bloom lift. The flexibility to move back and forth above the crowd created a thrilling and personal interaction with fans. Home Sweet Home and Butterfly were other noteworthy performances. While band members Taeyang and Daesung were not able to join him in person for Home Sweet Home, their futuristic holograms were enough to create a commotion. Whereas the latter, a ballad from his debut album Heartbreaker, balanced out the high-energetic numbers off the set-list. Additionally, G-Dragon's interpolations and covers of popular songs such as Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us and Maroon 5's This Love were a delightful surprise. The rapper breathed new life into them as he presented them in the Korean language. Visual impact The concert's visuals and props were other aspects that did not disappoint. For the tour, G-Dragon embodied the German philosophy Ubermensch, which describes an individual who surpasses themselves and conventional morality for self-improvement. G-Dragon believes this to be reflective of his own journey of self-discovery and artistic evolution. The concert, therefore, incorporated various futuristic elements to convey themes of self-transcendence, reinvention and artistic liberation. Whether it was the stage designs or elaborate lighting, the evening was a multi-sensory spectacle for audiences. As for G-Dragon himself, these elements strengthened his presence on stage, amplifying the nature of his songs and performing style. Though he did not dance much, his creative use of stage effects and props still worked its magic in drawing audiences in. His fashion choices did a number too. The stylings were a clever play on high-fashion and streetwear. Take his red rose applique jacket and knight look, for instance. The pairings were bold, refreshing and presented something new. Personal updates In the midst of the fun and excitement, G-Dragon did allocate some time to be personal too. Given his break from the spotlight, the Crayon hitmaker explained to fans the reasons behind his hiatus in a confessional video. He admitted to being burnt out after years of non-stop hustling. This time around, he aims to keep things focused, ensuring he stays true to his artistry. The crowd got a little too excited when he proceeded to tease Big Bang's comeback. The group, according to him, will reunite in line with its upcoming 20th anniversary next year. Updates on new music and tour, however, was not confirmed. Speaking of Big Bang, the group's memorable hits did not manage to secure a spot on the set list. This may have been a letdown for fans who were expecting him to. Contrary to his fellow member Daesung, who was in town previously, G-Dragon solely focused on delivering his solo material. This sentiment, however, feels irrelevant on the whole. The show was a dream come true for fans who have long awaited his return. While it may have been a long haul, the evening's performances made up for lost time.
