Exact date EasyJet customers can bag themselves cheap summer flights
The exact date to get "super cheap" EasyJet flights for next summer has been announced, according to Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert, who shared the news to excited travellers on Facebook Most Brits love heading on a holiday abroad when the summer months come. However, with the ongoing cost of living crisis, many people find they don't have as much spare cash to spend on breaks away as they used to. If that's you, then listen up, as the exact date to get "super cheap" EasyJet flights for next summer has been announced, according to Martin Lewis ' Money Saving Expert. The MSE Facebook account shared the news in a post with its 412,000 followers recently, and the post quickly went viral as many travel lovers planned to bag their cheap flights. Sharing the news, MSE wrote: "Heads up! Super cheap EasyJet flights for summer 2026 are landing on Tuesday July 22. "If previous releases are anything to go by, being online bright and early is the key to bagging a bargain." According to the MSE website, Easyjet releases its flights in batches every quarter of the year – and if you discover what day they're going to be launched and you book them them quickly, you can get a far cheaper price. It adds: "EasyJet follows a dynamic demand pricing model – in other words, when there's lots of demand for seats, you pay more; when there's less demand, you pay less. Usually it can be tricky to predict, and prices are fluid. "There's one point when demand is almost always low... the very second seats are released. This happens in several tranches throughout the year. In the past, these seats have shot up in price within two or three hours of being made available, so being online bright and early is the key to bagging a bargain." just because the flights have just gone on sale, it doesn't necessarily mean you're getting the best deal. As founder Martin Lewis himself does warn that just because the flights have only just gone on sale, it doesn't necessarily mean you're always getting the best deal. He says: "This has been a very successful technique for many people, and indeed if you want certainty of a cheap price it's worth doing. Do benchmark what a good price on that route is beforehand, just so you can check if it's worth it. "Though of course, if a particular flight is very substantially under-booked later on, you could get seats even cheaper then – that's just far more difficult to predict." What time will the flights be released? Easyjet hasn't announced when the flights will go on sale. It says that customers looking to book early and get great fares for next summer should keep an eye on the Easyjet website from early in the morning." According to MSE, the tickets "tend to go on sale as early as 5am or 6am, but sometimes it hasn't released seats until 8am, and it could depend on the location."

UK's biggest mobile provider is shutting service TODAY leaving thousands of Brits with no internet in huge shake-up
Scroll down to find out whether your device will be affected END OF THE LINE UK's biggest mobile provider is shutting service TODAY leaving thousands of Brits with no internet in huge shake-up Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE UK'S largest mobile provider is continuing its shut down of a major service today, which could leave customers without internet. Britain's major mobile providers have been gradually switching off a key service over the past few years, following an agreement with the Government made in 2021. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Virgin Media O2 is turning off its 3G network Credit: Getty EE, Vodafone and Three have all shut off their 3G services, with Virgin Media O2 the last to follow suit. The telecoms giant said that the switch off is so that it can focus on "faster, more reliable and more energy-efficient" 4G and 5G networks." The 3G switch off began in Durham on April 2, and is continuing today, July 16, in Norwich, Telford and Guildford. Torquay's 3G network will then be switched off on August 4. The mobile provider has confirmed that the rest of the UK will have its 3G networks turned off by the end of the year. The switch off will also affect Giffgaff, Sky Mobile and Tesco Mobile users as they all use Virgin Media O2's network. "We're switching off our 3G network to focus our attention and investment on upgrading faster and more reliable 4G and 5G networks that will give our customers a better overall experience", Virgin Media O2's Chief Technology Officer, Jeanie York, said. 'Following the successful pilot in Durham earlier this year, we will be switching off 3G in Norwich, Telford and Guildford in July, and Torquay in early August, with the rest of the UK to follow by the end of the year." Virgin Media O2 customers living in the affected areas have been urged to upgrade to a device which supports 4G or 5G before the switch off takes place. Anyone who's device is only capable of supporting 3G will be left without mobile data, but will still be able to text, take phone calls, and access WiFi. WhatsApp is closing down on three mobile devices in hours with users blocked from sending and receiving messages Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert (MSE) explained: "If you have a phone or Sim that only supports 3G, you'll effectively no longer be able to use the internet once it's fully switched off by your provider – you'll still technically be able to connect to the internet, but you'll struggle to do even basic tasks. "You'll still be able to make calls and send text messages over 2G, though the quality of the call will likely be a lot worse than it was on the 3G network." Virgin Media O2 has said that the "vast majority" of its customers already have a device which supports 4G or 5G, so will be completely unaffected by the switch off. It added that any customers still using a 3G device who are known to be vulnerable have been offered a 4G device free of charge. Which mobile networks are affected by the 3G switch off? Mobile networks affected by O2's 3G switch off: -O2 - Tesco Mobile - Sky Mobile - GiffGaff Networks which have already switched off 3G: - Vodafone - Asda Mobile - Lebara - Talk Mobile - Voxi - EE - 1pMobile - Ecotalk - IQ Mobile - Lycamobile - Mozillion - RWG Mobile - Spusi - Talk Home - Utility Warehouse - Your Co-op - Three - iD Mobile, Smarty - Honest Mobile - Superdrug All other customers who do not currently have a device compatible with 4G or 5G have been offered a new device at a reduced cost. Jeanie York added: "While we know that the vast majority of our customers already have a 4G or 5G device and will not have to take any action, our priority is to provide support to those who need it. "That is why we are reaching out directly to customers who do not have a 4G or 5G handset, and calling those we know are vulnerable, to provide information about their next steps. "It is important these customers upgrade their handsets in order to continue using mobile data after 3G is switched off.' Customers wishing to dispose of their old 3G devices should recycle them through O2 recycle, which could see them get cash for the old handsets. How to check if your device is affected Smartphone users who have purchased their device in the last 10 years are unlikely to be affected by the switch off. However, if you are still unsure, you can do a simple trick to check. Click on the settings page on your phone and search for Network Mode or Preferred Network. If you spot 4G or 5G listed, then you will be unaffected by the switch off.

Martin Lewis' MSE issues 'do not drive' warning as popular cars recalled
If you have one of these vehicles, you should not drive it, as there are safety concerns over the airbag system used in these cars - here, we explain the list of affected motors Martin Lewis' team has issued an urgent warning to 120,000 drivers after a major car recall was issued. The warning relates to second generation Citroen C3 and first generation DS3 models built between 2009 and 2016, as well as DS3 Automobile DS3s produced between 2016 and 2019. If you have one of these vehicles, you should not drive it, as there are safety concerns over the Takata airbag system used in these cars. It comes after a woman sustained fatal injuries caused by an airbag in a 2014 Citroen C3 in Reims, France, last year. There have been no incidents reported in the UK. MSE explained that Stellantis, which owns the Citroen brand, is repairing the affected vehicles free of charge, though you'll be unable to use your car until it is fixed. If you have one of these affected cars, you should be contacted by letter. MSE said: "If you've not heard from Stellantis and you're worried your vehicle may be affected, you can check by entering your 'vehicle identification number (VIN)' into the tool at the bottom of the recall page on Citroen's website. "Your VIN can be found in your vehicle log book – it's 17 characters long and will start with either VR7 or VF7. If you don't have your log book, you can look for your VIN through the front windscreen of the vehicle, in the left or right hand bottom corner, on the doorframe, near the door catch [or] within the engine compartment." You need to register your vehicle online for repair. If you're unable to register online, MSE says you should call the recall helpline on 0800 917 9285. In a recall notice published online, Stellantis said: "Stellantis UK announces an immediate stop-drive action for all Citroën C3 (second generation) and DS3 (first generation) vehicles manufactured between 2009 and 2019 equipped with Takata airbags. "Owners of such vehicles should immediately cease using their vehicle when safe to do so. Vehicles included in this new stop-drive action in the UK, were already part of an ongoing comprehensive recall campaign that started over one year ago, first in Southern Europe and then expanded northwards. "Recall decisions, especially stop-drive actions, are based on multiple factors, including airbag specifications, vehicle age and usage, climate conditions, and notifications from regulatory authorities. "Whilst there have been no reported instances in the UK, Stellantis has decided to deploy a stop-drive order for all impacted vehicles across Europe including the UK. This decision underscores the Company's unwavering commitment to customer safety."

Martin Lewis' MSE urges households to check if they can get £2,000 compensation
You will get up to £2,000 for severe issues such as flooding, while households suffering consistent low water pressure will get up to £250 Martin Lewis' website has explained how households in England could be entitled to up to £2,000 in compensation from their water supplier from today. You could be entitled to payments for poor service such as disruption to your supply, low pressure or sewer flooding. You will get up to £2,000 for severe issues such as flooding, while households suffering consistent low water pressure will get up to £250. Payments will be automatically credited to your water account. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) said it is the first increase in compensation rates in 25 years. Defra will expand the list of circumstances that will trigger compensation payments from October 2025. This includes payments for when customers are asked to boil their water due to contaminated supply. This will entitle households to £40 compensation, plus £20 for each 24 hours the "do not drink" notice is in place, up to a maximum of your annual water bill, excluding sewerage services. MSE said: "The changes are being introduced under mandatory new rules to be enforced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). "Until now, guidelines on compensation payouts in England had been voluntary. These had been in place since 2000 and were monitored by water regulator Ofwat." Environment Secretary Steve Reed said: 'Too many water companies are letting down their customers – with leaking pipes, poor water supply and low water pressure. 'The Government is holding water companies to account by making them put money back into people's pockets when they fail their customers.' Mike Keil, the chief executive of the Consumer Council for Water (CCW), said: 'Customers expect to be treated fairly when their water company lets them down, so we're delighted the Government has moved at pace to strengthen service standards. 'This should give people peace of mind they now have far stronger protection from a much broader range of water company service failures – from the slow installation of water meters to the mishandling of debt recovery. 'As well as bolstering payments for thousands of customers, these changes mark an important step towards restoring trust in the water sector which is at an all-time low.' Ofwat chief executive David Black said: ''We welcome these improvements to guaranteed standards and payments for customers. 'When customers suffer from problems like low pressure, disruptions to supply or sewer flooding, they can experience major stress and inconvenience, and payment amounts must recognise the disruption to their lives when standards are not met. 'These new changes are another way to make sure customers are protected when companies get it wrong.'

Martin Lewis' MSE explains if Premium Bonds are still 'worth it' after update
Premium Bonds are a savings product where you're entered into a monthly prize draw, instead of getting a guaranteed rate of interest on your money Martin Lewis' team has explained if Premium Bonds are still worth it after NS&I confirmed it is reducing its prize fund rate again. Premium Bonds are a savings product where you're entered into a monthly prize draw, instead of getting a guaranteed rate of interest on your money. The prize fund rate is the closest thing Premium Bonds has to an interest rate, and this is being reduced from 3.80% to 3.60% from its August 2025 draw. It means there will be less high value prizes up for grabs. There is expected to be over 6,011,195 prizes with a value of £396,738,700 in the August 2025 draw, versus 5,974,465 prizes with a value of £416,221,075 in the June 2025 draw. The odds of winning a prize from the August 2025 draw will remain at 22,000 to 1, and there will still be two £1million prizes available. In a new article published on the MSE team explained how the prize fund cut means for every £100 invested in Premium Bonds, £3.60 from August is paid out every year in prizes. However, this isn't actually possible in reality, as the smallest prize you can win is £25. There is also no guarantee you'll win anything at all some months. The MSE team concluded that the rate cut makes Premium Bonds "even easier to beat elsewhere" if you put your money into the top savings accounts. MSE said: "This is because savings interest is a guaranteed return – so if you get today's top easy-access rate of 4.75% (or 4.92% if you've not yet used up your ISA allowance), you'd get £47.50 (or £49.20) in interest a year for every £1,000 saved. "Though this interest rate can go up and down over time, you know exactly what you'll earn at any given point – so it still provides more certainty than Premium Bonds, where many saving the same £1,000 would win nothing." Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, said: 'This adjustment to the Premium Bonds prize fund rate – the first in four months – reflects the changing landscape for savings. 'Premium Bonds maintain their unique appeal by offering complete security backed by HM Treasury, the flexibility to withdraw easily, and the excitement of potentially winning a tax-free prize each month. 'The August draw is expected to deliver more than 6 million tax-free prizes worth over £396 million. By making this adjustment now, we're able to continue to balance the interests of savers, taxpayers and the stability of the broader financial services sector.'
