Juvenile is third person arrested in deadly shooting in Peoria
An unidentified teenager was arrested Monday, July 7 in connection to the June 20 death of a 20-year-old man in a drive-by shooting near Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
The Peoria Police Department said the teenager, whose name is not being released because of his age, faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Teron M. Scott, Jr.
The arrest is the third one in connection to Scott's death, with 20-year-old Christopher P. Adams and 18-year-old Kemareon D. Bell both arrested in June.
The Peoria County State's Attorney's Office says that PPD responded to the scene around 2:41 a.m. June 20 in response to a vehicle that had crashed at the park. Officers arrived to find a sedan crashed into a tree, with Scott found in the vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.

Surveillance footage taken from businesses in the area showed that a sedan with Adams, Bell and the unidentified juvenile ran a red light before coming alongside Scott's vehicle driving northbound and opening fire on it.
Adams was apprehended by police on June 20. Surveillance from a local convenience store showed Adams and Bell leaving the vehicle shortly before the shooting, with Bell leaving from the rear passenger side and purchasing food from the store. Official charges filed with the court also accuse Bell of being the one who fired the deadly shots toward Scott.
