KTM brings mobile service to Leh circuit: Key touchpoints, routes and details

KTM has introduced a dedicated 'Service on Wheels' (SOW) initiative for riders tackling one of India's most thrilling and remote adventure routes: the Manali–Jispa–Sarchu stretch. The newly launched mobile service setup is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted riding experiences, even on some of the country's most challenging terrains. Targeting the legendary Leh circuit, the KTM SOW initiative is designed to offer riders a sense of security and mechanical backup as they navigate the high-altitude passes and winding roads of the Himalayas. The service will operate between Jispa and Sarchu, two remote yet frequently visited stopovers for motorcyclists en route to Leh. This is where riders often face unpredictable conditions, and the presence of a mobile service unit could make all the difference. How to keep your car protected from intense summer: Tips & suggestions

How to keep your car protected from intense summer. As temperatures soar across India, with some regions experiencing blistering highs of over 40 degrees Celsius, it is important to ensure that your car remains cool and protected. The harsh summer heat not only makes driving uncomfortable but can also inflict lasting damage on your vehicle. From windshield cracks to faded paintwork, the impact of extreme weather can be both costly and inconvenient. Here are some practical steps to keep your car in top shape during the hottest months of the year. Summer car care: Tips & suggestions One of the simplest yet most effective ways to shield your car from the sun's direct heat is by parking it under a shade whenever possible. Even a short 30-minute exposure to sunlight can raise interior temperatures significantly. A shaded spot not only keeps the cabin cool but also helps preserve the paint and prevent cracking on the dashboard. When shaded parking isn't available, using sunshades and window visors is a smart alternative. These accessories block out a large amount of sunlight, keeping the interior cooler. Make sure to use them on both the front and rear windows for maximum protection. For added comfort, consider covering your steering wheel and seats with towels. This simple trick prevents them from becoming unbearably hot and uncomfortable to touch. Lightly sprinkling water on the towels before covering the seats can further help in reducing the temperature. Maruti Suzuki Swift AMT Long-term Review: Buy or Not? | TOI Auto To maintain airflow and prevent the car from becoming a heat trap, slightly opening the windows is recommended. This allows for cross-ventilation, which can be a lifesaver if your car is parked in direct sunlight for long periods. However, it's important to crack the windows just enough for ventilation while still ensuring vehicle security. For those seeking an extra layer of cooling, a solar-powered fan can be a valuable addition. These fans use solar energy to circulate air inside the car, effectively lowering the cabin temperature even when the engine is off. This can be particularly useful during long stretches of parked time under the sun. Discover everything about the automotive world at Times of India .
