Maruti Suzuki hits 5,500 after sales touchpoints, services 2.7 crore vehicles in FY 2024–25

As part of its FY 2024–25 expansion strategy, Maruti Suzuki added 460 new service locations, averaging more than one new touchpoint per day. Notify me Maruti Suzuki India has added a new milestone to its after-sales service by expanding its pan-India service network to 5,500 service touchpoints. The latest addition is in Udaipur, Rajasthan. With this recent expansion, the after-sales network of Maruti Suzuki currently comprises about 40,000 service bays, which allow the company to service up to 30 million vehicles annually. Based on company figures, Maruti Suzuki serviced more than 27 million vehicles in FY 2024–25, the highest number of vehicles serviced in a single financial year for the company. The increasing size of service operations is a function of the increasing demand for maintenance and after-sales services in India's expanding passenger vehicle sector, particularly in non-metro markets where access to services was historically restricted. The carmaker has already established 91 service shops in the ongoing financial year and has set a target of 500 new additions at the end of FY 2025–26. The total service network currently extends to 2,764 cities, placing it among the most extensive service infrastructures in the Indian automotive sector. Speaking on the development, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said Indian car buyers continue to look for easy and reliable service as a major consideration. 'We believe that a customer's decision to purchase a vehicle is often influenced by the proximity and reliability of after-sales service," he said. The electric SUV is expected to face tough competition as it contends against rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, etc. With the made-in-India Suzuki e-Vitara already introduced in the UK, the specification sheet reveals that the electric SUV promises to squeeze a range of up to 426 km (WLTP) on a full charge, while the battery pack is capable of charging 10-80 per cent in just 45 minutes, using a DC fast charger. Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: Design The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara features a modern and premium design, equipped with LED projector headlights, Y-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL), and front fog lamps. As an electric vehicle, it eliminates the need for a traditional radiator grille. The side profile is accented with black cladding and 18-inch aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels. At the rear, it sports a black bumper, three-piece LED taillights connected by a glossy black strip. The vehicle comes standard with seven airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, and ADAS technology. The larger 61 kWh pack is available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants. The FWD version offers a range of up to 426 km, powered by an electric motor that delivers 171 bhp and 193 Nm. The AWD version boosts power further to 181 bhp and 307 Nm of torque, with a range of up to 395 km. Charging times for the batteries vary: the 49 kWh pack charges from 10 per cent to 100 per cent in 6.5 hours with a 7 kW AC charger and in 4.5 hours with an 11 kW charger.
