Hamas: Zionist Enemy's abduction of Dr. Al-Hams is escalation in targeting Gaza's Medical Sector
Gaza – SABA: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned the Zionist enemy's abduction of Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, calling it a continuation of the systematic criminal targeting of the medical sector and its personnel—through killing, arrest, or intimidation. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Hamas denounced the Israeli forces for kidnapping Dr. Al-Hams and opening fire directly on the ambulance transporting him and his companions during his visit to a field hospital affiliated with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Rafah City. Hamas held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for his life, along with the lives of hundreds of detained medical professionals held under inhumane conditions. The movement called on the international community and its institutions—particularly the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization—to condemn this crime, pressure for the release of detained doctors, and confront the genocidal war that continues to target all aspects of life in Gaza. Hamas condemns 'Israeli' abduction of Gaza Ministry of Health spokesperson
Hamas has condemned the Israeli Occupation for what it described as the 'criminal targeting' of Gaza's medical sector following the abduction of Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Field Hospitals in the Gaza Strip. In a press statement issued Monday, Hamas said Al-Hams was kidnapped while visiting a field hospital operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Rafah. The group claimed that Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on the ambulance transporting him, killing several civilians, including journalist Tamer Al-Zaanin. Hamas accused 'Israel' of deliberately targeting medical workers through 'killing, arrest, and intimidation,' describing the incident as part of a wider campaign to cripple Gaza's health sector. The movement held the 'fascist occupation government' fully responsible for Hams' life and the lives of hundreds of other detained medical personnel, whom it said are being held in 'inhumane conditions.' Hamas urged the international community, particularly the ICRC and the World Health Organization (WHO), to strongly condemn the incident and pressure 'Israel' to release detained doctors. The statement further called on global institutions to 'confront the genocide war that is targeting all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip.'

Details behind 'Israeli' kidnapping of Gaza Ministry of Health spokesperson
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, director of Abu Youssef Al-Najjar Hospital and spokesperson for the Gaza Ministry of Health, during a raid near the Red Cross Hospital west of Khan Younis on Monday. According to the Director-General of the Gaza Ministry of Health, the arrest took place outside a field hospital operated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). A special IOF unit reportedly opened fire on the ambulance accompanying Dr. Hams, injuring the driver. Palestinian sources confirmed that journalist Tamer Al-Zaanin was killed after being directly shot by the same IOF unit during the operation in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis. The Gaza Ministry of Health strongly condemned what it described as a 'deliberate attack' on the health sector, saying Hams' arrest marks 'a direct assault on the already struggling medical system in Gaza.' The ministry stressed that the incident reflects a broader pattern of systematic targeting of medical personnel and facilities. The ministry also noted that the operation constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law, which provides protections for medical workers and health institutions in conflict zones.
