TNA President Teases Slammiversary Will Be ‘PHENOMENAL'
Could it be? This weekend, TNA Wrestling will celebrate its 23rd anniversary with a stacked card at Slammiversary. Amongst the lineup is TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich vs NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jayne, with the winner taking possession of both championships. Elsewhere, TNA World Champion Trick Williams will defend his title against Mike Santana and Joe Hendry. Per an announcement from TNA President Carlos Silva, fans are also hoping to see an appearance from a popular TNA alum. Due to high demand, TNA has opened up additional seats at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, the site of Slammiversary. 'We're moving the stage back to accommodate more fans,' Silva wrote on Twitter/X. 'This event will be TNA's greatest achievement and trust me it's going to be PHENOMENAL.' The latter sentence has particularly caught the attention of fans, as it seemingly points to former TNA World Champion AJ Styles, known as 'The Phenomenal One.' While a contracted WWE talent, Styles appeared on the 2022 Slammiversary event, via a pre-taped video honoring the company's then-20-year anniversary. Given WWE's current partnership with TNA, wrestling fans have long called for Styles to physically return to his former home of 12 years. Styles' TNA run was so successful that the company considered inducting him into their Hall of Fame. Styles turned it down at the time, citing his desire to wait until after he retires from in-ring competition. As of this writing, there is no official word on whether or not AJ Styles will appear at Slammiversary 2025 in any manner. Regardless, the July 20 event already looks to be a success from a ticket standpoint, with Silva promising the show itself to also be a success. WWE Veteran Teases Crossover Title Match With TNA Wrestling Champion
WWE Veteran Teases Crossover Title Match With TNA Wrestling Champion originally appeared on Athlon Sports. One longtime WWE veteran is teasing a potential high-stakes match for TNA Wrestling's "Slammiversary 2025" event. Advertisement TNA's biggest show of the summer is set to emanate from UBS Arena on July 20. Athlon Sports will be on the scene for the event, which will feature a triple threat match for the TNA World Championship involving titleholder Trick Williams, Joe Hendry, and Mike Santana. As far as the women's world title match is concerned, WWE might just have a presence in those plans as well. Former two-time world champion Natalya has been stoking the flames of a potential showdown with current TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich. Slamovich responded to a post on X from Natalya, who called out a slew of names who work for WWE and other promotions. Slamovich's name was on that list, and TNA's top female titleholder told Natalya that she will be waiting. Advertisement Natalya fired back at Slamovich, saying she will "beat your ass anytime, any rules, anywhere that will sanction it." Cory Hays of quote tweeted Natalya's response and hinted at a matchup between the two taking place at "Slammiversary." The idea isn't far-fetched, given WWE's strong relationship with TNA Wrestling. Slamovich is currently involved in a storyline with her former tag team partner Killer Kelly, but that feud is expected to culminate on Thursday's episode of "TNA iMPACT!" Slamovich will put her TNA Knockouts World Championship on the line against Kelly in a chain match, which is an homage to their previous gimmick as a tag team.
