Joy Taylor celebrates some good news with her NFL rookie nephew after Fox firing

Joy Taylor took her mind off her Fox Sports ouster on Thursday night as she spent some time with her NFL rookie nephew, Mason Taylor. Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that Taylor was losing her job at the network, as her show 'Speak' and two other programs were being eliminated. Taylor co-hosted 'Speak' with Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce, while morning shows 'Breakfast Ball' and 'The Facility' were also cancelled. However, she had some good news to celebrate on Friday as her nephew signed his rookie deal with the Jets. Taylor, a second-round pick by Gang Green in this year's NFL Draft, signed a four-year, $10.5million deal according to multiple reports. And $9.6million of that figure is guaranteed at signing, according to Spotrac. A night earlier, Taylor spent time with Mason and his girlfriend, Sage, as the group posed for a selfie which was posted to the media personality's Instagram page. Taylor is the younger sister of former Dolphins star Jason Taylor, who is Mason's dad. Mason, 21, is expected to be the Jets 'starting tight end this season after the team selected him with the No. 42 overall pick in the draft. His aunt spent nearly a decade at Fox Sports before losing her job earlier this week. Emmanuel Acho, who co-hosted 'The Facility,' also lost his job alongside colleagues Chase Daniel, James Jones and LeSean McCoy. The news of their exits came months after Taylor was accused of using sexual relationships with Acho and network executive Charlie Dixon to further her career. The shock allegations stemmed from a bombshell suit , which was filed on behalf of hair stylist and former Fox employee Noushin Faraji, which named Taylor, Dixon, former FS1 host Skip Bayless and the Fox Corporation. Taylor, 38, was alleged to have told make-up artist Faraji to 'get over it' when she confided in her about claims she was sexually assaulted by top programming executive Dixon. Taylor denied the allegation. Back in January, Taylor was also alleged to have used 'her sexuality to get on a show' when she sought a spot on Acho's program 'Speak'. She denied 'each and every allegation against her', with lawyers branding the lawsuit 'a transparent attempt to improperly leverage media attention and public perception to extract financial gain.' Two weeks ago Taylor finally spoke out about the lawsuit that embroiled several Fox Sports stars in scandal, claiming the allegations left her battling 'dark times', 'grief' and 'trauma'. Much of the lawsuit focused on allegations of sexual harassment, sexual battery, negligent supervision, retaliation and other hostile workplace issues between 2012 and August of 2024. Bayless was accused of offering $1.5million to Faraji for sex, while Dixon was accused of groping the stylist's buttocks. Back in April, reports claimed Fox Sports executive Dixon had lost his job after being accused of sexual battery in two separate lawsuits.

Jets agree to terms with second-round pick Mason Taylor

The Jets have gotten a deal done with their second-round pick. Per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Media, New York and Mason Taylor have agreed to terms on the tight end's four-year rookie contract. Taylor was the No. 42 overall pick in this year's draft. Wolfe notes that of the $10.46 million in Taylor's contract, 91.3 percent of it ($9.56 million) was guaranteed. Taylor also received 60 percent of his Year 4 salary guaranteed, which is a 55 percent increase from the No. 42 pick in 2024. Taylor, 21, played his college ball at LSU. He is the son of Hall of Fame defensive end Jason Taylor.

Jets Rookie Mason Taylor Details 'Full Tight End' Plan Amid Pro Bowl Buzz

Jets Rookie Mason Taylor Details 'Full Tight End' Plan Amid Pro Bowl Buzz originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New York Jets offense has some pieces in place at the skill positions. Justin Fields, Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall have, at different levels, established what they might be able to accomplish in 2025. Advertisement Here's an argument that says they can do even more than some expect if there is a fourth member of the offense who jumps up in a major way. Enter tight end Mason Taylor, who was drafted in the second round and is expected to develop into one of Fields' trusted targets. What does the LSU product think needs to be done to get him there? "I think just going back to the fundamentals — that's in the run game, the footwork, the hand placement, leverage -- all the little things, that kind of separates yourself in the NFL," Taylor said. "So, me critiquing, then trying to perfect that and be a full tight end is the biggest thing for me right now." Advertisement And where might being a "full tight end'' take him? Fox Sports, in listing rookies who could become franchise stars for their respective 32 teams, pegs Taylor as a guy who might have a future as a Pro Bowler. "Perhaps some of the reason why the Jets have struggled developing a young quarterback in recent years is their lack of a "security blanket" at tight end," the site writes. "Taylor has some of the surest hands of any pass-catcher in this class, providing an immediate boost to a franchise that hasn't produced a Pro Bowler at tight end since Mickey Shuler … in 1988." We don't want to get ahead of ourselves here. But the truth is - no disrespect to Mickey - his numbers are quite achievable. Advertisement Shuler played 12 years with the Jets and totaled 5,100 yards and 37 touchdowns with two Pro Bowl selections in 1986 and 1988. Can Taylor emulate that? Is there a Pro Bowl in Taylor's career? It could make all the difference to the Jets offense for that to happen ... and soon. What are reasonable expectations for Jets TE Mason Taylor's rookie season?

Rookie TE Mason Taylor#Jets | 🎥 @nyjets The New York Jets selected tight end Mason Taylor with the No. 42 overall selection in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft. Taylor projects as an immediate difference maker in Tanner Engstrand's offense. Tight end is typically among the most difficult positions when transitioning from college to the pros, but we've witnessed a historic amount of success in recent seasons. Sam LaPorta rewrote the record books in 2023 when he recorded 86 receptions for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie. Brock Bowers exceeded that in 2024, setting NFL records for receptions (112) and receiving yards (1,194) by a tight end in a rookie season. It would be unfair to expect Taylor to reach those heights, but he should be heavily involved in Engstand's passing attack. The Jets lack a clear-cut No. 2 receiver behind Garrett Wilson. It's well within the realm of possibility that Taylor is effectively Justin Fields' second-most targeted pass catcher. Taylor displayed athleticism at the NFL Combine. The former LSU standout ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds. Taylor also posted 28 reps on the bench press, and ran a 7.06 three-cone. The Plantation, Florida native recorded 55 receptions for 546 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers this past season. The Jets drafted Taylor with a premium second-round selection to upgrade their passing attack. He'll immediately be their TE1, easily leapfrogging Jeremy Ruckert on the depth chart. Expectations should be fairly high for Taylor's rookie campaign.
