Naumec was the last golfer to qualify for match play last year – doing so in a playoff - at Framingham before eventually defeating Worcester Country Club's Ricky Stimets 1-up during the 36-hole finals.
Stimets shot even par on Monday.
Ryan Downes, the 2023 champion who plays at Vanderbilt, shot a 77. In April, Downes tied the Vandy record for the lowest 18-hole score in program history, shooting a 10-under 61 at the Mason Rudolph Championship. His teammate, John Broderick of Wellesley, carded a 1-over 73 on Monday. Wyatt Barlage, also of Wellesley, fired a 75.
