Suggestions, recommendations pour in for VMRDA Master Plan 2041
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) received an overwhelming response from various quarters for its Master Plan 2041 as they submitted their suggestions and recommendations. Residents and public representatives made several suggestions and submitted their requests on the Master Plan to VMRDA chairperson MV Pranav Gopal and Commissioner KS Viswanathan here on Thursday. Government Whip and West constituency MLA PGVR Naidu (Ganababu), East constituency MLA Velagapudi Rama Krishna Babu, Nellimarla MLA Lokam Nagamadhavi, TDP former MLC Buddha Naga Jagadeesh, and city residents, made several suggestions for the master plan. Representatives of the Visakhapatnam chapter of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce requested that the proposed master plan roads should be developed on a priority basis with adequate parking facilities. The master plan roads should not be proposed in unauthorised layouts. The local people and traders submitted a petition stating that the proposed 45-mt road from Asilmetta to Maddilapalem should continue as it is. Otherwise it would affect business units and their livelihoods, they opined. Also, requests were made for the road from Anakapalli to Anandapuram via Gajuwaka, NAD, Maddilapalem, Madhurawada to be widened by 60-mt without any variations. Petitioners suggested that parks, greenery and spaces should not be allocated anywhere in the master plan, and they should be considered while drafting the master plan. CREDIA representatives submitted a request to widen the beach road, and similarly, the road from Sagar Nagar to GITAM. A total of 70 requests were received during the two-day programme, informed Pranav Gopal. He said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's idea was to bring in a transparent master plan after the formation of the coalition government. He assured that suggestions would also be considered for the master plan. Soon a white paper on the master plan will be released.

In push for Master Plan 2041, Delhi govt seeks fresh suggestions from DDA, MCD
Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Monday chaired a review meeting on the long-delayed Master Plan 2041, seeking suggestions from key departments to strengthen the proposed roadmap for the Capital's future development. These plans are designed with a 20-year perspective and serve as a comprehensive framework to guide the city's planned and structured development. Delhi's previous master plan, the MPD-2021, expired around mid-2021. (Sanchit Khanna/HT PHOTO) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had formally approved the Master Plan 2041 on February 28, 2023, and submitted it to the Union housing and urban affairs ministry for notification on April 13. However, the Centre's approval is still pending, stalling implementation for over three years. The Supreme Court in October 2023 sharply rebuked central authorities, noting that the plan missed its April 30, 2023 notification deadline and expressing concern over the city 'keeping everything in limbo'. Delhi's previous master plan, the MPD-2021, officially governed urban development until it expired around mid-2021. The plan is critical to addressing issues such as infrastructure growth, pollution, traffic congestion, and housing shortages in the city. Monday's meeting was the first held on the Master Plan 2041 under the Rekha Gupta-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and was attended by cabinet ministers and senior officials. An official present said the chief minister directed departments such as the DDA and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to submit detailed suggestions for improving the plan. 'Departments have been asked to explain their proposals and justify them with specific reasoning so the government can evaluate the suggestions and act accordingly,' the official said, asking not to be named. Once the suggestions are reviewed, the government will decide whether to re-submit the plan to the Centre or share selected inputs. 'The course of action will depend on the nature and relevance of the feedback received,' the official quoted above added. PWD minister Parvesh Singh described the plan as a long-term vision document for Delhi. 'Today's meeting with CM Rekha Gupta ji and fellow ministers was not just about a document — it was about shaping Delhi's future with a balanced focus on population, infrastructure, environment, and employment,' Singh said in a post on X. The Master Plan 2041 focuses on the regeneration of old areas (unauthorised colonies, urbanised villages), allowing mixed use development, providing affordable rental housing and small format housing, promoting walkability and non-motorised transport, development of green-blue (green spaces and waterfronts) infrastructure and corridors for sustainable development of the city. These plans are designed with a 20-year perspective and serve as a comprehensive framework to guide the city's planned and structured development.

Masterplan 2041 may be sent back to drawing board
New Delhi: Will the draft Master Plan for Delhi 2041 be sent back to the drawing board? More than two years after Delhi Development Authority (DDA) submitted the draft to the Centre for notification and implementation—only for it to be put on the backburner — the Master Plan 2041 is once again in the spotlight. On Monday, Delhi govt held a closed-door meeting to review various provisions of the document, which serves as a blueprint for the capital's urban planning and infrastructure development. Sources said DDA gave a detailed presentation on the draft to chief minister Rekha Gupta, her cabinet colleagues, and senior Delhi govt officials. While more discussions on the document are likely to happen in the Delhi secretariat, sources said the officers were asked to submit their feedback on different aspects of the plan. "Depending on the nature of inputs received from various departments, we may consider sending our recommendations to the Centre," said a source. However, any recommendation from Delhi govt that alters the draft would require the plan — currently awaiting final notification and implementation—to be recalled. Following over four years of deliberations, DDA submitted the draft MPD 2041 to the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs in April 2023 for final approval. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Voici ce qui change quand on prend vraiment soin de ses genoux Confort genoux Undo You Can Also Check: Delhi AQI | Weather in Delhi | Bank Holidays in Delhi | Public Holidays in Delhi Sources said the document underwent several modifications even after submission. While agencies and urban experts have been waiting for its rollout—which would enable major projects such as in situ slum rehabilitation, redevelopment of unauthorised colonies, new housing initiatives and conservation of the Yamuna floodplain—the renewed attention from the new Delhi govt has taken many by surprise. An official, however, called the discussion with the CM and ministers "informal." Sources indicated that the Centre may have deemed it wise for the new administration to be familiar with the plan's provisions. The MPD 2041 was initially slated for implementation in 2021.

KUDA chairman highlights robust first year
Hanumakonda:Venkat ramReddy Enagala, chairman, Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA), here on Sunday released a statement detailing significant progress and plans for Warangal. Marking one year in office from July 2024, he highlighted KUDA's efforts to enhance infrastructure, boost tourism and drive overall development, aiming to transform Warangal into a metropolitan hub. Key accomplishments under his leadership include coordinating the Warangal Master Plan-2041, a blueprint covering 181 villages and 1,805 sq. km, which was launched by CM Revanth Reddy. KUDA expedited the completion of the Kaloji Convention Centre in Balasamudram, a Rs 95- crore project, inaugurated by the CM on November 19, 2024. To address staffing needs, approval was secured to appoint 27 contract employees. A major financial initiative involved initiating land pooling for approximately 100 acres, projected to benefit KUDA by Rs 150 crore. Furthermore, Rs 107 crore was secured with the CM's assistance to clear long-pending land acquisition payments for the Inner Ring Road (IRR), resolving a decade-old issue. KUDA also supported the conduct of the Miss World-2025 event, which partially took place in Warangal, successfully showcasing the district globally. To secure KUDA's assets, a unique Katha number was obtained for its land holdings, preventing encroachment. The Elkathurthi Junction, Warangal's gateway, was also completed at a cost of Rs 4 crore. Several vital projects are in progress, including coordinating for a 13-km IRR and Rail Over Bridge (Rs 150 crore); nearing completion (90%) are the Bhadrakali Temple Mada Veedulu (Rs 30 crore) and desilting of Bhadrakali Lake with Navagraha islands (Rs 10 crore), aimed at boosting tourism. Renovation of the Kakatiya Musical Garden is also 90% complete. Construction of a six-storey modern Warangal bus station is underway; projects to develop Gundu Cheruvu (Ekasila Park) and the Warangal Fort surroundings are progressing to attract more visitors. Efforts are accelerating for various regular development works across constituencies. Looking ahead, KUDA has proposed ambitious projects like a 41-km Outer Ring Road, a cable car and glass bridge connecting Bhadrakali Lake (Rs 60 crore under PPP), and expanding the Master Plan 2041 to cover 271 revenue villages. Plans include a 100-acre Oxygen Park (Rs 10 crore, PPP), and developing Dammera and Bestham Cheruvu lakes as tourist spots. KUDA aims to become self-reliant, mobilising Rs 700 to Rs 1000 crore from financial institutions, reducing the government burden. Enagala stressed that transforming Warangal into the next growing IT hub requires continued support from the CM. He noted that relocating the current dump yard is crucial for this vision, potentially generating revenue and energy. 'Early completion of RoBs will also accelerate development,' he said. The chairman conveyed his gratitude to the CM, his Cabinet, district MLAs, and the KUDA staff, including VC&MD Ashwini Tanaji Wakade, for their instrumental support in realising these initiatives.
