Norwich sign Denmark international Kvistgaarden
Norwich City have completed the signing of Denmark international forward Mathias 23-year-old joins the Canaries from Brondby for a fee believed to be about £6.9m on a four-year-deal, with the option of a further 12 made his debut for Denmark against Northern Ireland last month and scored 23 goals in 38 appearances for Brondby in are bracing themselves for the potential departures of star forwards Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent, a pair who weighed in with 33 goals and nine assists in last season's Championship campaign. Emil Bellaiche, who covers Brondby for Danish newspaper Tipsbladet, said he was surprised Kvistgaarden has chosen a move to Carrow Road."It was quite a surprise when Norwich suddenly popped up," he told BBC Radio Norfolk."If Brondby fans had to guess, they would have said he would end up at a bigger club, even though Norwich is a big club. "He's been linked with the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig, but I think it will be the right thing for him to go to Norwich."Kvistgaarden joined Brondby as a 13-year-old and represented his country at all youth levels. He played for the Under-21s in the recent European Championships at which Denmark were beaten by France at the quarter-final will link up again with former teammates Anis Ben Slimane and Oscar Schwartau at Carrow Road."They [Kvistgaarden and Schwartau] are probably the biggest two talents in recent years from Brondby so it will be exciting to follow them," said Bellaiche."I would describe Kvistgaarden as an all-round attacker, even though he is not that tall. He used to do gymnastics when he was younger so he's one of the guys in the Danish league who can jump the highest."He continued "He scored quite a lot of headed goals and he's a very aggressive player. In his younger days he wasn't as sharp in front of goal but it's something he has really worked on."With Kvistgaarden's gymnastic prowess, City fans can expect to see some high octane celebrations when the Dane scores."He can do all sorts of things, he'll do a cartwheel and then a backflip. He's a person who likes to celebrate his goals." Bellaiche added.

Surprising Mathias Kvistgaarden transfer and contract details go public after Celtic made one thing abundantly clear
Surprising Mathias Kvistgaarden transfer and contract details go public after Celtic made one thing abundantly clear The Danish international is set to make a move to the English Championship after admiring glances from the Hoops (Image: UEFA via Getty Images ) Brondby star Mathias Kvistgaarden is on the brink of a switch to Norwich City with the English Championship side set to land an early summer bargain. It comes after Celtic dropped their long-standing interest in the Danish hitman. Kvistgaarden was on the radar of the Scottish champions last summer when Parkhead chiefs explored the prospect of an £8m move last summer. That was before Adam Idah arrived at the club on a £9million permanent switch from the Canaries after a successful loan spell in Glasgow's east end. In January a striker was once again on the agenda after the £10million departure of Kyogo Furuhashi to Stade Rennes - but a deal for the 23-year-old failed to get off the ground. But after Kvistgaarden declared he was "ready" to leave Brondby this summer he looks set to get his wish with Tipsbladet claiming a switch to Carrow Road is imminent. Article continues below An initial fee of £6.9million will be paid out to the Danes but the fee could rise to £7million with bonuses that have been negotiated in the deal. These include the number of games Kvistgaarden played for Norwich, and it helped the club return to the Premier League. Despite lowering their bumper £11million asking price from the winter window, Record Sport understands the Hoops would have not made a summer move at any price. Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden Celtic's interest cooled on the move as they switched attention to other targets amid reservations about the player's fit at Celtic Park. One of those is Napoli's Giuseppe Ambrosino - who is reportedly on the Scottish Premiership champions's radar after a successful season on loan at Serie B side Frosinone. The 23-year-old could make the move on loan with an option for the Glasgow giants to make the deal permanent next summer. Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio claims the frontman is "keen" on the move to Celtic despite interest from other Serie A clubs with the "situation evolving" after an initial approach by Cagliari. Celtic-linked striker ‘agrees bumper transfer to England' with medical set to seal move
CELTIC have already added five new players in the summer transfer window. But it appears their attempts to make it a sixth will have to wait, with one of their top targets believed to be heading elsewhere. 3 Celtic are reportedly set to miss out on a top target in attack Credit: Kenny Ramsay 3 Mathias Kvistgaarden has been on the Hoops' radar for a long time Credit: Getty 3 The Danish forward has a lot of suitors after scoring 23 goals for Brondby last season Credit: Getty Mathias Kvistgaarden has been on Celtic's radar for as long as two years, with multiple links and scouting missions in that time. The Hoops missed out on the striker as a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi in January. And it had looked as though they would be beaten to their target this summer, as it was reported this week that French side Lens were set to swoop. But a new report says that Kvistgaarden is instead set for a club down south. Danish outlet Tipsbladet say that Norwich City have reached an agreement with Brondby over the transfer. They say that only a medical now needs to be done before the move is completed. The Dane will not travel with the rest of the Brondby team to Austria for pre-season, instead going to England tonight to seal his deal. Celtic were urged to sign the striker by ex-Hoops ace Thomas Gravesen, who labelled him 'the next Henrik Larsson'. Kvistgaarden scored 23 goals in 38 games in Denmark last season, drawing interest from a number of suitors. Benjamin Schmedes, Brondby's sporting director, had said: "It doesn't surprise me that there is great interest in him from many teams, but I can't say that he is close to being sold or that he is far from being sold either.
