Drew Brees to join Netflix's NFL Christmas Day broadcast as an analyst: Report
Drew Brees will be working Netflix's NFL Christmas Day broadcast as a game analyst, according to The Athletic. Brees worked with Netflix on its international broadcast in 2024. Brees, 46, will be featured on the domestic broadcast for one of the two December 25 games slated for the streaming service: The Dallas Cowboys vs. the Washington Commanders, and the Detroit Lions vs. the Minnesota Vikings. Brees had a one-year stint with NBC Sports in 2021, calling Notre Dame games and select NFL matchups, and made some appearances on ESPN last season. Last summer, Brees openly expressed interest in calling more NFL games. CBS will produce the games for Netflix, and per The Athletic, CBS' Nate Burleson will return to this year's broadcast as the game analyst, with former QB Matt Ryan also in consideration. This is Netflix's second year of broadcasting Christmas Day games. Last year, the Netflix broadcast roster included Ian and Noah Eagle on play-by-play and Burleson, J.J. Watt, and Greg Olsen as analysts. Kay Adams also joined the group as the pregame show host. Laura Rutledge, Devin and Jason McCourty and Ian Rapoport made up the in-studio panel. Brees was a 13-time Pro Bowler in an NFL career headlined by a 2010 Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints. The Purdue product played for the San Diego Chargers from 2001-2005 before joining the Saints in 2006. Brees announced his retirement in 2021, joined NBC and returned to Purdue as an interim assistant coach for the football team. Brees was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 2024.

Michael Penix Jr. on playing with Ryan Neuzil, Matt Ryan's advice, offseason plan
When the Atlanta Falcons arrive for training camp in a few weeks, all eyes will be on quarterback Michael Penix Jr. After spending his rookie year as the backup to Kirk Cousins, Penix enters Year 2 as the team's unquestioned starting quarterback. We spoke with the former top-10 pick about a variety of topics, including his chemistry with center Ryan Neuzil, the advice he received from Matt Ryan, his approach to being named Atlanta's QB1, and his partnership with Sharpie. Advertisement What was the biggest thing you learned during your rookie season? Penix: The biggest thing is just learning the speed of the game and, you know, just the understanding of the game, how it works, the ins and outs and how to be successful. How has being named the starting QB affected your approach to the offseason/ ability to lead the team? Penix: I wouldn't say it affected my approach. Obviously, as far as getting reps with the first-team guys, you know, that's definitely a big-time difference that I've been going through. But it's been good, though, so I've been excited. Each and every offseason my approach is the same. Advertisement What is one area of your game that you'd still like to improve upon? Penix: I would say just connecting with my guys. Obviously, it's still early. We've still got some more time. We've got camp coming up so just being able to have that connection with them so we're always on the same page. How has meeting with Falcons legends Matt Ryan and Mike Vick helped prepare you for the season? Penix: I met with Matt Ryan and I've talked to Vick here and there you know, but just their plan, their offseason plan, that's the biggest thing. Being a rookie last year, this is my first offseason I've had so just understanding how to attack the offseason and do it the right way so that whenever your second year comes up you know how it's supposed to look. Advertisement Do you have any experience playing with Ryan Neuzil and how do you think he'll fare taking over for Drew Dalman? Penix: Every day, that's who I was rolling with in practice so we've got a good chemistry. He's going to ball man. He's going to do a great job for us. He's a very smart player and he has what he needs to have to be able to be successful. What has it been like partnering with Sharpie? Penix: Tuesday marked the first year that I've been with Sharpie. The partnership that we have has been amazing. And using that Sharpie S-Gel pen for signing my first contract in the NFL. And obviously, it's going on right now -- all the rookies are signing their contracts so I'm just hoping they are using that Sharpie S-Gel pen too. I've been using Sharpie since I was a little kid and I think everybody that has played sports picked up a Sharpie as a little kid., So it's just a blessing to be a part of it. Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake features get leaked online
Image via Ubisoft. It's true that Ubiisoft is yet to show the green light for Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake, but rumors and speculations have already convinced everyone that the game is really in the works. One of the major leaks that sealed its development is the continuous updates on the Steam page of the base game, AC 4 Black Flag. Now a new rumor has surfaced online which solidified the game's existence even more. This time, the leakes claimed some of the upcoming features which we might get to see in the Remake version of this highly popular Assassin's Creed Game. Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake features leaked According to prominent leaker @TheHiddenOnceAC (via Redditor ZamnBoii), the Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Steam page has recently been updated with many new features. Now, the surprising fact is that none of these features are available in the base game. So, Ubisoft might have added these updates in an enclosed manner in the game to try them out so that they can be implemented in the Remake version, unless there is a sudden update waiting for the base game. These new features include: Custom Volume Control, Stereo Sound, Surround Sound, Mouse Only Option, Adjustable Difficulty, and Save Anytime. That means this Steam page update, just like the previous one that claimed its existence , yet again proves that Assassin's Creed Black Flag 4 Remake is really in the works. A few weeks ago, Matt Ryan, the voice behind Edward Kenway teased AC 4 Black Flag Remake too, by stating that players might have to beat Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag again. So, all of these rumors and speculations are pointing straight towards only one thing: Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake. However, as Ubisoft is still silent about this potential Remake, we should take all of these leaks as a grain of salt. But we can keep our fingers crossed as Ubisoft is going to be at Gamescom 2025, where we might get the highly anticipated announcement.
