Springtrap Slashes His Way To Dead By Daylight x Five Nights At Freddy's Collaboration

Haunting his next prey, Behaviour Interactive brings Springtrap to Dead by Daylight's latest chapter, Five Nights at Freddy's, with Matthew Lillard reprising his role. Following the 2024 teaser and long-standing fan anticipation, Dead by Daylight launches the Five Nights at Freddy's chapter with the arrival of Springtrap and the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza map. Wielding his signature knife, the new Killer is let loose in The Entity's Realm, with the chapter incorporating core mechanics and Easter eggs from the beloved franchise. In addition to Springtrap joining the long list of Killers in the survival-horror title, Matthew Lillard returns in an alternate costume. For those looking to try out Dead by Daylight and experience the exciting new chapter, the survival-horror game thrusts four Survivors into eerie locations, relying on communication and teamwork to power Generators and escape the bloodthirsty murderer. But as the Killer—whether a slasher icon or a paranormal entity—your goal is to hunt down your prey and sacrifice them to The Entity before they can escape. Incorporating Five Nights at Freddy's mechanics into Dead by Daylight, seven Security Doors with cameras will spawn across the map, allowing Survivors to view different corners of the environment. Both Springtrap and Survivors can use the doors to teleport. However, Survivors will need to manage the cameras and doors carefully—if the limited battery power is depleted, the system will need to reboot, leaving them vulnerable. Worse still, Springtrap can grab them if they're using the same door. Diving into the mechanics, Springtrap Killer designer Jay Guzzo shared: 'When Springtrap is the Killer in a Trial, Survivors will find they have more available to them than they normally do. The doors and cameras give Survivors an unprecedented level of awareness and manoeuvrability in a match. We balanced it out by making Springtrap a little more powerful than your average Killer so he can really deliver those jump-scares. Hitting the right balance there has been a fun challenge.' Alongside the arrival of Springtrap, players can dive into a chaotic experience on the new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza map, which features Easter eggs from the original Five Nights at Freddy's. Bringing the birthday party venue to Dead by Daylight, associate art director Chase Toole shared: 'We took references from the first game and attempted to reconstruct what a pizzeria would realistically be built like. That's why we have things like air ducts, mechanical rooms, and of course, the kitchen you see in-game. They reference FNAF, but they also work toward the immersion and believability of the space itself.' As Springtrap in Dead by Daylight, the deadly animatronic will be equipped with three character-specific perks to assist with his hunt, such as: Help Wanted – Damage a Generator to make it Compromised, shortening Springtrap's Basic Attack cooldown duration when the Compromised Generator is fixed. Phantom Fear – When a Survivor looks toward Springtrap within the Terror Radius, they will scream and briefly reveal their Aura. Haywire – As the Exit Gates regress, Survivors will see the lights flicker randomly. As part of the Five Nights at Freddy's Collection, Springtrap will have a variety of alternate costumes from across the franchise, including the base costume from his debut in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, Clown Springtrap and Toxic Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's AR: Special Delivery, and Glitchtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted. In addition to the outfits, Matthew Lillard reprises his role for the Legendary Yellow Rabbit Outfit, inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) film. Lastly, Dwight will receive a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza t-shirt. Quite an exciting collaboration for fans of the horror franchise. Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy's will be available on Xbox One / Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 could set up a Scream reunion. Chad Stahelski's Highlander reboot expands its cast. David Corenswet teases the tone of DC's Lanterns. Plus, get a look at Invasion season 3. To me, my spoilers!According to a new report from insider DanielRPK (via Comic Book), Skeet Ulrich will reunite with his Scream costar Matthew Lillard in Five Nights at Freddy's 2 as Henry Emily, the owner of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Variety reports that Marisa Abela has joined the cast of the new Highlander, in an undisclosed role. Deadline reports Ben Radcliffe has joined the cast of The Face of Horror. Directed by Anna Biller (The Love Witch) and co-starring Jonah Hauer-King, Kristine Froseth, Ellie Bamber, Leo Suter, and Bella Heathcote, the story follows Edward Carnifex (Hauer-King), 'who marries his longtimelove Eleanor (Froseth), only to get bored of her and instead court a wealthy noblewoman (Heathcote). But it is only a matter of time before Eleanor will be forced to take a bloody revenge. Bamber plays Eleanor's sister Beatrice, and Suter is Edward's squire and Beatrice's suitor Richard.' In conversation with Jake's Takes (via Screen Rant), actress Sara Sampaio revealed a scene of Ultraman punching Krypto the Superdog was cut from the final edit of Superman because 'it did really bad in the test screening.' Well, they cut Ultraman punching Krypto. Because, apparently, it did really bad in the test screening. During a recent interview with The Direct, Jared Harris stated he 'really wish[es] people would stop asking' him about the long-promised third Robert Downey, Jr. Sherlock Holmes movie set in the American West. Yeah. I mean, I keep taking that down [on IMDb] and someone keeps putting it back up. I have no idea. No one's talking to me about it. And I really wish people would stop asking me…It should be on there. I mean, no one's talking to me about it. I have no clue. According to Bloody-Disgusting, the new I Know What You Did Last Summer has been rated R for 'bloody horror violence, language throughout, some sexual content, and brief drug use.' Dave Bautista, Olga Kurlyenko, and Samuel L. Jackson search for the whereabouts of the Mona Lisa after a solar flare turns Earth into a radioactive wasteland in the trailer for Afterburn. Variety reports Amy Sedaris has joined the cast of Jon Favreau's upcoming live-action/animated TV series based on Disney's Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Sedaris is said to play the mother of Ryder Allen's character, Taylor, though further details are currently unavailable at this time. During a recent interview with The Nerdist (via Comic Book), David Corenswet described HBO's upcoming Green Lantern series as an 'R-rated project' with 'a True Detective feel.' One thing that excites me so much about James' vision for the DCU is the different genres and tones that the movies can take on. And I know people are skeptical that certain genres and characters can mix. I would love to see this Superman in an R-rated project. In a detective, you know, in a thing like Lanterns, where it's a True Detective feel. I just think it can happen in spite of how bright and playful this version of the character is. Finally, Apple TV+ has released a trailer for the third season of Invasion, premiering this August 22. Want more io9 news? Why Freddie Prinze Jr. Thought He Would Be 'Fired Every Day' While Filming 'She's All That '(Exclusive)

For weeks, Freddie Prinze Jr. was convinced he'd be fired from 1999's She's All That due to his perceived lack of experience "It was one of the best experiences. I was nervous as hell that I was going to get fired every day, but other than that anxiety, it was literally the best experience," he tells PEOPLE Prinze has teamed up with DoorDash for its Summer of DashPass and Summer Scaries promotionsAlthough he was the leading man in a teen rom-com that would go on to massive success in the late '90s, Freddie Prinze Jr. didn't think he was all that. At the time, Prinze was coming off of well-regarded performances in The House of Yes and the first two installments of I Know What You Did Last Summer, but several castmates in 1999's She's All That were bona fide stars, including Rachael Leigh Cook, Matthew Lillard, Paul Walker, Kieran Culkin and Anna Paquin. In the film, Prinze starred as Zach Siler, a popular student who attempts to woo Cook's dorky character, Laney Boggs, and make her prom queen. 'It was one of the best experiences. I was nervous as hell that I was going to get fired every day, but other than that anxiety, it was literally the best experience," Prinze, 49, tells PEOPLE of making the high school-centric film while discussing his new partnership with DoorDash. 'I felt like everyone was so much better than me, and I didn't have a lot of acting experience. I didn't go to acting school. I was really learning on the job, so I was really nervous going to work every day that that was going to be the day, and they were going to be like, 'Yeah, we're going to let you go.' ' Prinze's unwarranted uneasiness faded a month into filming, once he realized that eliminating him would essentially mean reshooting the whole movie. 'So then I started kind of feeling myself a little bit more, but it literally took a month of filming of just pain and anxiety,' he says, adding that he was terrified of being late on set. 'I'd be like an hour early every single day. I was so nervous.' Although the movie is now 26 years old, Prinze knew in real time how memorable the cast was, especially Cook, 45. 'We're still super close friends to this day. I love her to death. She's like a sister to me,' he says. 'She was so welcoming to me from day one. She had more experience than I did, and I had to really lean on her a lot during that movie. I had hardly any experience, and she had been doing it since she was younger at a high level. So I really relied on her and leaned on her and trusted her, and she was super good to me.' As tight as any real high school friends, Prinze, who returns to the big screen on July 18 with the newest adaptation of I Know What You Did Last Summer, developed deep connections with many others from the cast, too. Dulé Hill, who went on to star in The West Wing, attended Prinze's 2002 wedding when he married Sarah Michelle Gellar; Prinze and the late Paul Walker bonded over a love of Jiu-Jitsu. Lil' Kim, though, left a lasting impression. 'I fell in love with Lil' Kim and thought she was the coolest chick in the world,' he said of the rapper, who had already been nominated for a Grammy when she signed on to She's All That. 'She would show up in a limousine with 10 people, but she just wanted to come in a regular car by herself. She was so real, and so down to earth and so cool.' Ironically, Prinze and Gellar are now parents to a high schooler in their daughter, Charlotte, 15, and a soon-to-be high schooler in their son, Rocky, 12. Both children have busy schedules, which prompted Prinze to partner with DoorDash for its five-week Summer of DashPass promotion, which gives DashPass members discounts of up to 50% off meals, groceries, electronics and summer essentials. 'I was literally going through [the DoorDash app] when they brought the campaign to me,' Prinze, who stars in DoorDash's humorous Summer Scaries campaign, says. 'My kids had just gotten out of school. One had a camp for an activity that she does at school. My son's really into racing, and so he's in a go-karting camp, and I have to take him there every day. I also am the cook in my family, and I don't want to cook every single day. When you're a good cook, that's the expectation. I also don't want to go out to dinner every single day. That's expensive as hell, too. So I literally was already using the app in my normal life just to get tacos to the house so that I didn't have to cook.' A weekly DoorDash user, Prinze recently used the app for groceries while his wife and daughter were away on vacation. 'My son is 12 and he sleeps late, so half my day is screwed," he says with a laugh. "I can't just leave him and go to the store, and if I wait until he wakes up, we're not going to have time to do all the other stuff he wants to do. So with the app, you can literally just order the groceries that you're going to cook that night. It can be something that's simple.' Read the original article on People

Canada's largest gaming expo in Edmonton for the weekend

Canada's largest gaming expo is expected to bring upwards of 40,000 visitors to the Edmonton Expo Centre over the weekend. Game Con Canada kicked off Friday and runs until Sunday, bringing together online and tabletop gamers of all ages together for three days. 'This is a weekend all about gaming, everything to do with gaming, video games, board games, Hollywood celebrities, movies and all of the above,' said Chris Meilleur, CEO of Meibell Consulting and Game Con Canada. 'This is just a fun-filled weekend for people to come out and have a good time.' The convention featured a Warhammer world championship, a live Dungeons and Dragons comedy experience, escape rooms and celebrity guests including Matthew Lillard, Steven Ogg and Aleks Paunovic. Meilleur said guests can expect to see a lot of cosplay, too, with a Sunday cosplay competition handing out $10,000 in cash prizes. 'Matter of fact, we're the largest cosplay cash prize in Canada,' he added. Cosplay Ian McDonald (left) and John Moffatt donned Halo marine cosplay for Game Con Canada in Edmonton on June 13, 2025. (Galen McDougall/CTV News Edmonton) John Moffatt and Ian McDonald attended the event Friday in their best Halo marine attire. They said it's great to have a space to share their love of the game and the getups with other people. 'You got Halo 3 in 2007 and it was like, damn, that was the moment,' McDonald said. 'You want to be a part of that. And being able to make costumes and do it where you could feel like you were really in the game, was what we wanted to do.' '(Cosplay is) a really great outlet for people,' added Moffatt. 'It's working on art that's not your most conventional form.' The convention will run until 7 p.m. Saturday night and will return from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday
