Linfield teenager Matthew Orr has described former Blues defender Trai Hume as an inspiration to him after being named the top Young Player in the 2024/25 season at the Ulster Footballer of the Year awards. Orr was overjoyed to claim the coveted prize following his first full season in men's football in which he also won the Premiership title and attracted interest from across the water.

Dungannon Swifts manager Rodney McAree has been named Manager of the Year at the annual Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association won the award ahead of Linfield boss David Healy and Cliftonville manager Jim Magilton, who were also helped the Swifts to their first ever Irish Cup triumph after beating Cliftonville on penalties in Saturday's decider as well as a fourth place Irish Premiership finish and a Mid-Ulster Cup win."It has been an incredible weekend for our football club.
