Five-time GRAMMY nominee to headline Downtown Rescue Mission's 50th anniversary celebration
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Downtown Rescue Mission announced its headliner for its 50th anniversary celebration. The Mission announced that five-time GRAMMY nominee and award-winning Christian artist Matthew West will headline the celebration on September 16 at the Von Braun Center Saturn Ballroom. The celebration marks the rescue mission's 50 years of ministry and service to help the homeless in North Alabama and surrounding communities. The event is said to feature two ticketed events: A lunch featuring comedian Mike Williams and a dinner with a special performance by West and more entertainment from Williams. 'This is a celebration of fifty years of lives being transformed,' Jonathan Walsh, Executive Vice President of Development, said. 'Having Matthew West join us is special because his music reflects the themes of redemption and hope that align with the Mission's purpose. It brings visibility to the cause we've worked toward since 1975.' All proceeds of the event will benefit the rescue mission to help provide shelter, meals and recovery programs for those in the community. OSHKOSH – Oshkosh may be known for EAA AirVenture, or Lifest, or any number of other summer events. May and June may be over, but there's plenty of fun yet to be had. Chris Tomlin, Matthew West announced as headliners for RiseFest
SHELDON, Iowa (KCAU) — Ready for music festivals this summer? For Christian music-lovers, there's a music festival coming to Sheldon, Iowa. RiseFest, this year, is June 20 and 21. On Friday, June 20, the main stage will feature the following artists: Matthew West, Rend Collective, Patrick Mayberry, and Allison Eide. The following day, June 21, the main stage will welcome: Chris Tomlin, Crowder, KB, Megan Woods, and a few worship services. Interested in more festivals? Other than music, RiseFest offers camping options, food vendors, seminars, a kids' zone area, and a Prayer Tent. General admission to RiseFest is $68, and kids under 10 years old are free. Nebraska State Fair announces Righteous Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band as part of 4 indoor performances
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KCAU) — The Nebraska State Fair has announced four performances set to take place during the fair in late August. The performances include musical artists such as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame duo The Righteous Brothers; classic rockers The Marshall Tucker Band; Christian music star Matthew West with special guest Josiah Queen; and comedian Brian Regan. All four will take place in the Heartland Events Center as part of the Nebraska Lottery Concert Series indoor shows, the fair said in a release. Country artist Patrick McCollum coming to Sioux City 'The Nebraska Lottery Concert Series always strives to have something for everyone,' the fair's executive director Jaime Parr said in a statement. 'This year's lineup certainly checks that box.' First on the calendar to perform is Matthew West on Sunday, Aug. 24. He has had a two-decade career and is the reigning KLOVE Artist of the Year. He's scored 25 number one hits, including 'My Jesus,' 'You Are Everything,' 'The Motions,' 'Strong Enough' and 'Hello My Name Is.' He is also a five-time Grammy nominee and has written songs for other artists like Casting Crowns, Rascal Flatts, and Scotty McCreery. On Monday, Aug. 25, The Righteous Brothers will perform for the annual Older Nebraskans Day concert. The duo is known for number one hits like 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin',' 'Soul & Inspiration,' 'Unchained Melody,' 'Rock and Roll Heaven,' and 'Dirty Dancing' theme 'The Time of My Life.' The duo originally consisted of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield until Hatfield's death in 2003. Bucky Heard later joined Medley. 'It's not often you get a chance to hear Hall of Famers singing such major hits like this,' Parr said in a statement. 'We are thrilled to have The Righteous Brothers on Older Nebraskans Day.' On Tuesday, Aug. 26, comedian Brian Regan will be taking the microphone. He's had two Netflix- stand up specials: 'On the Rocks' and 'Nunchucks and Flamethrowers.' He has also appeared on multiple late-night talks shows, including 28 times on 'The Late Show with David Letterman.' The Marshall Tucker Band will perform their classic rock on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Known for hits such as 'Can't You See,' 'Heard It In A Love Song,' 'Fire On The Mountain,' 'Ramblin,' and 'Take The Highway,' the band still plays more than 150 shows a year. The fair has also announced that Sawyer Brown, Theory of a Deadman, Skillet, and La Arrolladora will perform. Additionally, the Forever Young Tour will make a stop with LFO, Ryan Cabrera, DJ Skribble, O-town, and Vanilla Ice. Tickets go on sale to the public on Monday, March 24.
