'First I meant to post this video a few weeks ago, but in March I asked Frank Valentini, our amazing executive producer, I had a conversation with him for my reasons for wanting to move and my desire to not leave the show.' The actress explained how Frank and the show were very accommodating to this news, 'Now when you approach a job like this they can always be like 'forget it' we'll let you out of the contract if you're going to leave the state. GH did not do that. Which was kindof amazing.' Storms then announced that she may have filmed her last episode of General Hospital for the year. Continuing, 'Because I also asked for some time off. The week before last week, I had my final taping day for the year. It's possible I will be back in December, maybe November.' The fan favorite teased that she is excited for fans to see the direction of her storyline. Sharing, 'I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is kindof incredible. You guys are going to freak out actually. I can't wait to see the comments online about that.' She then thanked ABC and General Hospital for being so accommodating. 'I really want to thank GH, the ABC executives, the writers, for agreeing to let me take this time and I know Frank and the producers there know my reasons and I am so grateful that they understand and are supportive.' Storms then addressed some of the online rumors that have been circulating about her. Telling fans 'Really quick about the online rumors, and I'll get into some of this stuff at a later date, this is just me, very long windly explaining that I am taking a break and moving to Tennessee. If you don't read about it or watch a video on it from my page, take it with a grain of salt. People like to say a whole bunch of stuff.' Paggi is expected to air as Maxie Jones on the episodes scheduled for July 30 and August 13. Posting a video montage on Instagram with the following caption, 'A little bit of our trip so far….No one makes me laugh like @emmerylan. I found a local fire department and Emme wouldn't stop so I could find a representative for my new holiday. Cats and air mattress are not a good combo - but duct tape can *kinda* fix that. The vanity mirror Emme has been posting about is EVERYTHING…wait - did I mention she gets *very* nervous driving through a roundabout?? We will do laps. (it's ok, Em. It's endearing). I made a new sweater and I am in love with it. Oh, and of course Harper's Stanley cup got a purse for Easter (please don't ask why 🤦🏼♀️ I don't have an answer for that). To be continued…..: General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu. General Hospital has recast of one of its most popular characters, Maxie Jones. The role has been played by actor Kirsten Storms since 2005. However, now viewers will get to see a new face. So, who is playing Maxie, and is Kirsten Storms leaving General Hospital? Here's everything you need to know about the latest recast on the soap opera. Nicole Paggi has been recast as Maxie in place of Kirsten Storms in General Hospital. The 41-year-old is known for her role in Pasadena, Hope & Faith, One on One, Cielito Lindo, Girls Talk, and many more. No, Kirsten Storms has not left General Hospital permanently. Paggi has temporarily taken over Storms's role on the show due to the latter's scheduling conflicts. This is not the first time Storms has been temporarily replaced in General Hospital. In 2011, she took a medical leave from the show due to her battle with endometriosis. During her absence, Jen Lilley was roped in to play Maxie Jones. Further, in 2016, Storms was replaced by Molly Burnett as the former needed time to recover from skin issues. Burnett reprised the role in 2018 for a brief while when Storms was down with the flu. In 2021, Storms took another medical break after she underwent brain surgery. At that time, Maxie's character was sent on a long trip to Texas to accommodate the leave. Nicole Paggi was last seen as Maxie in December 2023 to fill in for Storm's absence. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Storms shared her first reaction to her recast, stating, 'I would be lying if I didn't say that I was taken aback a bit by it.' She continued, 'I would prefer that someone play Maxie and be playing Maxie well to keep the character relevant and in the soap world still because it doesn't take much for a character to die off and for somebody else to come in and be in a front-burner storyline. I was very excited just to know that she was still going to be in Port Charles and doing lots of things.' The post Who Replaced Kirsten Storms as Maxie on General Hospital?
