Laos, Belarus agree to strengthen ties, waive visas

VIENTIANE: Laos and Belarus have agreed to deepen ties across a range of areas from trade to investment, tourism and more as ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries held talks in Vientiane. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov, accompanied by a government delegation, is paying an official visit to Laos from July 16-18, at the invitation of his Lao counterpart, Thongsavanh Phomvihane, the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

On July 1, 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, held a meeting with the Minister of International Relations of the Republic of Botswana, Phenyo Butale, who is paying an official visit to Belarus. This is the first visit by the head of Botswana's foreign ministry to our country in the history of Belarusian-Botswana relations. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to strengthen political and interministerial dialogue, expand mutual trade, cooperation in the fields of agriculture and food security, healthcare, education, and the formation of a legal framework. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to coordinate on all aspects of the bilateral and international agenda. The ministers agreed on practical steps to intensify cooperation and confirmed their mutual interest in holding a series of bilateral events in 2025–2026. Following the negotiations, a joint statement was signed by the foreign ministers of Belarus and Botswana, expressing their intention to strengthen multifaceted cooperation. Oman and Belarus sign agreement to establish joint committee

Minsk: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus signed an agreement in the Belarusian capital, Minsk today, to establish a joint committee aimed at boosting cooperation across various fields between the two countries. The signing ceremony was attended by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, and Viktor Aleksandrovich Lukashenko, President of the Belarusian Olympic Committee and Special Envoy of the President of Belarus to the GCC states. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman by Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority (OIA), and on behalf of the Government of Belarus by Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Also present at the signing ceremony were Hamoud bin Salim Al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, along with a number of Belarusian officials.

Belarus and Guinea-Bissau signs the Agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports

On May 7, 2025 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus hosted the signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports. The document was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, and the State Secretary for International Cooperation of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Fatumata Jau. The agreement will enter into legal force after the parties fulfil necessary domestic procedures. On the same day, the two ministers met and discussed the status and prospects of the Belarusian-Bissau cooperation. They agreed to draw up a list of projects and agreements for implementation in the nearest future and to hold inter-ministerial political consultations.
