Kaizer Chiefs - Full list: Main transfer targets in each position
Kaizer Chiefs have wrapped uop their pre-season tour of the Netherlands and it is clear that they need to make some big changes. Kaizer Chiefs won just one of their five matches during their pre-season tour to the Netherlands. So, they are going to need to recruit some new players in key positions. Let's take a look at their main transfer targets in each position. CHIEFS MAIN TRANSFER TARGETS Goalkeeper: Stanley Nwabili/ Croatian Defenders: Fawaaz Basadien Midfielders: Mihlali Mayambela, Jaedin Rhodes and Luke Baartmen Attackers (Strikers and Wingers): Dzenan Zajmovic, Asenale Velebayi and Elias Makwana Chiefs urgently need reinforcements in goal. This is because Fiacre Ntwari is set to be released. Meanwhile, Brandon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma continue to be rotated by Nasreddine Nabi with neither man showing consistancy in goal. Hence, the pressing need to sign a quality goalkeeper. Nigerian goalkeeper, Nwabali has been linked with Chiefs for several seasons now. However, Chippa United are now open to letting him go with Amakhosi interested in signing him. In defence, Amakhosi have brought in Nkanyiso Shinga, Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane. Meanwhile, they signed Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley at the start of last season. So, they are quite well covered at the back although they are still linked to Stellenbosch and Bafana Bafna FC right back, Basadien. Njabulo Blom (defender and defensive midfielder), Sabelo Radebe, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Yusuf Maart have all left Chiefs. Meanwhile, they have signed Ethan Ndlovu and Siphesihle Ndlovu. So, that's four midfield departures and two midfield signings and they're far from done with changes in the midfield. Mayambela and Rhodes are heavily linked with moves to Chiefs. In fact, Amakhosi were close to securing a deal for Mayambela before they raised his price. So, they are willing to wait until January when he is free or for Aris Limassol to lower their asking price. 'Chiefs are not just sitting back and relaxing by waiting for January or the end of the season. It's believed the negotiations are ongoing and it will depend on how low Aris Limassol can go in terms of the amount. Chiefs are believed to want to have him as early as they can. But if that doesn't happen, then they will wait for his free agency status from January until the end of the season,' the insider revealed on SNL . Meanwhile, Baartmen (Cape Town Spurs) has reportedly agreed to join Chiefs. In five matches on tour, Chiefs scored two goals. One was a stunner from Reeve Frosler. Whilst, one goal was scored by youngster Naledi Hlongwane. Meaning, in five matches – 450 minutes (seven and a half hours of football), Amakhosi's attackers managed just one goal. Flavio Silva has been underwhelming. Whilst, Wandile Duba needs an experienced attacker to guide him. As things stand, Chiefs could sign Zajmovic for free. Meanwhile, they are yet again linked with Mokwana and Velebayi. Interestingly, reports claim Velebayi has already agreed to join Chiefs. Kaizer Chiefs told to fork out R15 million for Bafana star
Cyprian club Aris Limassol are reportedly placed a price tag of R15 million for Mihlali Mayambela as Kaizer Chiefs are looking to bring the Bafana Bafana winger to Naturena. The 28-year-old has expressed his desire to join Amakhosi in a recent interview. Mayambela's contract with Limassol runs until 2026 but it looks Chiefs are pushing for a move. Soccer Laduma reported that Aris Limassol demanded approximately R15 million from Kaizer Chiefs, and not R5 million that was previously stated. 'I can tell you now that no team can refuse to pay R5 million for a player of Mihlali's calibre. Have you seen the players the team has signed so far this season? And the amount they have paid? It's around that R5 million for some of them and how could they fail to pay the same amount for an international Bafana Bafana player? So, Aris Limassol demanded around R15 million with one year left on the player's contract. This is why the club felt that was too much hence it's believed they put it on hold for now,' the source told Soccer Laduma . The publication also reported that Kaizer Chiefs could look at signing Mayambela in January instead of paying R15 million now. In six months time, the winger could even sign a pre-contract with the Soweto giants. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Mihlali Mayambela deal stalls over hefty R15 million price tag
Kaizer Chiefs' pursuit of Bafana Bafana star Mihlali Mayambela has hit a bit of a speed bump after the club was quoted a hefty sum. Mayambela turns out for Cypriot outfit Aris Limassol and is contracted until the end of next season. The player has been a key figure for his club, helping them to the league title in his first season and second place during 2024/25. His consistent performances and winning experience in Europe have naturally made him an attractive option for Kaizer Chiefs, especially as they look to accelerate their rebuild under Nasreddine Nabi in his second season. According to a Soccer Laduma report, Chiefs have put their pursuit of the player on hold after they were told they would need to part with R15 million to get the deal done and bring the 28-year-old back to South Africa.

Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Midfield shake-up and striker search
The ongoing transfer window has seen Kaizer Chiefs shake up their midfield lineup considerably. With the departure of Yusuf Maart and the reported interest in signing winger Mihlali Mayambela, the club is clearly prioritising a more dynamic and creative midfield. Mayambela, currently plying his trade in Cyprus, is known for his quick feet, dribbling skills, and ability to deliver quality crosses — attributes that could add a new dimension to Chiefs' attack. The midfield rebuild also reflects the club's desire to control matches better and increase goal-scoring opportunities. Alongside Mayambela, young midfielder Jaedin Rhodes is viewed as a promising talent who could develop into a cornerstone of Chiefs' future. Despite the midfield changes, the biggest question mark remains upfront. While new signing Flavio Silva has shown flashes of skill and adaptability, Chiefs still want to strengthen their strike force. The club is reportedly in talks with multiple forwards who fit their style. Finding the right striker will be crucial if Kaizer Chiefs want to avoid the scoring droughts that hampered their previous campaigns. The pressure is mounting on the club's recruitment team to deliver a forward who can make an immediate impact. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana winger: What happened?
Kaizer Chiefs target Mihlali Mayambela is seemingly remaining with Aris Limassol in Cyprus. The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a return to Amakhosi this winter. Before moving to Sweden's Djurgården aged 18, Mayambela played professional football in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Cape Town All Stars. The former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates development player became a journeyman abroad via countries like Portugal, Israel and Cyprus in the Middle East. Timeline report: New Kaizer Chiefs kit unveiling In Cyprus, with Limassol during the 2024/25 season, Mayambela played 23 times with four goals and five assists. Image: samsonmayambela/X According to this update, his club, Limassol, expected far more than Kaizer Chiefs expected for a player with one year left on his contract. Kaizer Chiefs to make a big announcement 'You know it's believed that personal terms between the player and the club were agreed but apparently his club were looking for a big transfer fee while he has only one year left on his contract,' an insider told Soccer Laduma . 'And looking at the other players they signed so far it's believed Kaizer Chiefs felt the asking price was too much and that's why they had to put the move on hold. But they were really interested in signing him, and the player was also happy to come back home,' the insider added. 'It's not over yet. It's apparently just for this window period. They are considering wanting for him to have a free agent status around January and make the second move. But that will also depend on whether Aris Limassol will already renewed his contract or not. That's what Kaizer Chiefs will be working on for now,' the source concluded.
