EV chargers limiting TTDI parking spaces
EV charging stations should not take away public parking spaces.
KUALA Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allowed a company to instal electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the worst possible locations in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), Kuala Lumpur.
This means that public parking bays are being privatised.
The identified locations include Lorong Rahim Kajai 13 and Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad.
These commercial areas are already acutely short of public parking spaces.
This poor decision to instal EV charging facilities will further deprive the public of space to park their cars.
We are not against EV charging stations but we are against their location.
In our opinion, EV charging stations should not take away public parking spaces.
Those who want to venture into the business should do it through joint ventures with private carpark operators.
