These include Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy round. Seats from central universities, deemed universities, and other medical institutions will be covered in these rounds. Out of more than 24 lakh students who appeared for NEET UG 2025, around 12.36 lakh candidates have qualified. However, only about 1,15,900 MBBS seats are available across government, private, and other medical colleges in the country. This means only one in ten qualified candidates will be able to secure a seat in an MBBS programme. The seat matrix includes 775 medical colleges under the 15 per cent AIQ. These institutions include more than 400 government colleges, 32 private colleges, 13 government (society) colleges, 44 society-run colleges, and over 250 trust-run colleges.
