Adam Chamberlain returns to Mercedes-Benz USA as CEO

Adam Chamberlain is returning to Mercedes-Benz USA as its new CEO on July 1 after departing the company in 2021, the automaker announced April 15. Chamberlain, who will also take over as head of marketing and sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars North America, will succeed Dimitris Psillakis, who has been in the dual role since December 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile. Psillakis, a more than three-decade company veteran, will transition to a senior strategic advisor role and serve the position through the end of 2025. 'This leadership change reflects Mercedes-Benz's continued commitment to innovation, customer excellence and long-term growth in the USA,' the automaker said in a statement. The U.S. is the German automaker's second largest market. Chamberlain's appointment follows a series of management reshufflings at Mercedes-Benz, including some newly-created positions in the automaker's U.S. and North American operations, as well as a new of board directors. Mathias Geisen, member of the board of management, marketing and sales for Mercedes-Benz Group AG, in a statement said that Chamberlain 'brings an exceptional blend of strategic and operational excellence in both the manufacturer and retail businesses.' He added that Chamberlain 'will play a key role in navigating transformation and laying the groundwork for long-term success.' Chamberlain was VP of sales for Mercedes-Benz USA when he left the company in April 2021 to become president and CEO of the Americas region for Aston Martin in November that year, per his LinkedIn profile. As VP of sales for Mercedes-Benz USA, he helped lead the automaker's U.S. retail and product strategy.
