Mercy Chefs' Feed 757 initiative kicks off
Mercy Chefs kicked off a summertime effort Wednesday to help fight child hunger in Hampton Roads. The nonprofit launched its Feed 757 initiative with a backpack build and distribution event at Hodges Manor Elementary School in Portsmouth, featuring more than 130 volunteers filling backpacks with seven full meals each.

Mercy Chefs to serve meals to tornado victims in Kentucky and Missouri
PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Mercy Chefs, a Virginia-based disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization, is responding to the devastating tornadoes in Kentucky and Missouri. Beginning Sunday, the nonprofit will serve hot, chef-prepared meals to victims, first responders and volunteers who have been impacted by the multiple deadly tornadoes in St. Louis, Missouri and London, Kentucky.
