Indian Entrepreneur, Mona Patel Dazzles In Everything From Wine To Beige Gowns At The Jeff Bezos And Lauren Sanchez Wedding
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding was a grand grand affair. The couple painted Venice in hues of love as they embarked on a new journey together. Lauren's Dolce & Gabbana wedding gown commanded attention, but the high-profile guest list also served us some avant-garde fashion inspiration. Stealing the spotlight among them was Harvard educated Indian entrepreneur Mona Patel, who made heads turn in two stunning looks. Mona Patel is not new to making waves in the couture world and has consistently impressed the fashion police ever since she walked the Met Gala 2024 carpet in an Iris van Herpen gown with butterfly sleeves that worked with clockwork precision. Come 2025, Mona served up another sartorial treat at the MET Gala 2025 in a futuristically tailored and customised Thom Browne suit with a motor-style stitched in spine inspired design. The Indian-American tech entrepreneur and philanthropist made a grand entrance with a robotic dog on a diamond leash. No wonder Mona Patel hit the right sartorial notes at Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez's joyful festivities. For the pre-wedding celebration, she played muse to Italian fashion label Dolce & Gabbana, much like the bride herself. The wine gown featured a bodycon fit that hugged her curves like a second skin. Lace and tulle which are the signature of the designer duo, Dolce & Gabbana dominated the floor-grazing silhouette. Delicate floral embroidery offered a feminine touch but the sheer elements and added to the subtle risque factor. Mona paired the turtleneck wonder with a structured black underdress separates. A bronzed glow on a dewy visage sculpted her face to finesse. Delicate diamond jewellery and a neatly secured updo rounded off Mona Patel's sleek avatar. She attended the celebrations alongside, her husband Dr Chintan Desai. Photo Credit: For the wedding which took place on June 27, 2025 Mona Patel weaved a princessy dream in a beige Georges Hobeika gown. It came with sleeveless details, plunging into a fitted bodice and further below into a ruffled hem. Specks of jewels and Swarovski on the bustier contributed to the extra dose of allure. They shimmered in a bright manner like stars delivering oomph and panache in equal measure. For her makeup game, Mona Patel opted for a soft glam look. She accessorised her look with diamond and stone-encrusted tear-drop earrings that glistened through her messy bun.

Indian CEO celebrates 'legendary love' as she attends Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez pre-wedding in Venice
Venice is abuzz with glamour and excitement as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former news anchor Lauren Sanchez prepare to tie the knot in what is being hailed as one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings of the year. The couple, who have been in a relationship for over six years, will be celebrating their union in the romantic Italian city, with a guest list said to include some of the biggest names from across the globe. Jeff Bezos's pre-wedding saw Indian-American Mona Patel attend the festivities. (Also read: Luxury Venice hotel 'booted' guests to make room for Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez: report) Among the early arrivals is Indian-American entrepreneur and philanthropist Mona Patel, who took to her official Instagram account to share photos from Venice. Captioning the post, she wrote: "Celebrating 'Legendary Love' in Venice @laurenwsanchez @jeffbezos.' Who is Mona Patel? Mona Patel, originally from Vadodara, Gujarat, moved to the United States at the age of 22 to attend Rutgers University. She briefly returned to India to complete her undergraduate degree from Gujarat University before finally settling in Dallas, Texas, in 2003. Over the years, Patel has carved a niche for herself as a serial entrepreneur, having founded eight companies spanning healthcare, technology, and real estate—collectively valued at over $100 million. Armed with an MBA from MIT and additional credentials from Harvard Business School, Patel is also the founder of Couture For Cause, a non-profit organisation that combines her love for fashion and philanthropy. Through auctioning luxury couture pieces, many from her own collection, the initiative raises funds for various charitable endeavours. A celebration with purpose The grand wedding in Venice has not been without its challenges. The couple reportedly had to make last-minute arrangements following protests from local residents over the impact of high-profile events on the city's delicate infrastructure and cultural landscape. Despite this, the wedding is set to host 200 handpicked guests, as confirmed by Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro. In a heartfelt move, Bezos and Sanchez have requested guests not to bring presents. (Also read: Meet Mona Patel, the Harvard-educated Indian-American CEO who made a splash at Met Gala 2024) 'We are excited for you to join us! We have one early request: please, no gifts,' read the wedding invitation. 'Instead, we're making contributions in your honour and with gratitude to you for making the journey to celebrate with us in Venice. Donations on your behalf are being made to the UNESCO Venice Office, CORILA, and to Venice itself.' The invite further added, 'This magical place has gifted us unforgettable memories. Our hope is that through these efforts and by you joining us, Venice will continue to inspire wonder for generations to come.'

Russian-born Harvard researcher charged for secretly bringing frog embryos into the US
A lawyer for a Russian-born scientist and Harvard University researcher charged with trying to smuggle frog embryos asked Thursday that she be brought back to Massachusetts, three months after she was taken to a Louisiana immigration detention center. (Also read: Harvard slammed as Elon Musk reacts to post accusing university of discriminating against 'white men') Kseniia Petrova, 30, was already facing deportation. She was charged Wednesday with smuggling goods into the United States, shortly after a federal district court judge had set a hearing on her release. A judge in Louisiana went over the charges during a hearing Thursday. 'She has requested a transfer to Massachusetts, where the complaint was filed,' her lawyer, Gregory Romanovsky, said in a statement. 'We expect federal authorities to transfer her to Massachusetts in the next few weeks.' If convicted, Petrova faces a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. Petrova had been vacationing in France, where she stopped at a lab specializing in splicing superfine sections of frog embryos and obtained a package of samples to be used for research. As she passed through a U.S. Customs and Border Protection checkpoint in Boston Logan International Airport, Petrova was questioned about the samples. Petrova told The Associated Press in an interview last month that she did not realize the items needed to be declared and was not trying to sneak in anything. After an interrogation, Petrova was told her visa was being canceled. Romanovsky said Customs and Border Protection officials had no legal basis for canceling Kseniia's visa and detaining her. He called her transfer from ICE to criminal custody 'an attempt by the government to justify its outrageous and legally indefensible position that this scientist working for the U.S. on cures for cancer and aging research has somehow become a danger to the community." The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement on the social platform X that Petrova was detained after 'lying to federal officers about carrying substances into the country.' They allege messages on her phone 'revealed she planned to smuggle the materials through customs without declaring them.' (Also read: Meet Mona Patel, the Harvard-educated Indian-American CEO who made a splash at Met Gala 2024) Harvard said in a statement that the university 'continues to monitor the situation.' Petrova told the AP she left her country to avoid conflict or possible political repression. She fled after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, marking the start of a bloody three-year war.

Met Gala: When fashion slayed and social media played
Every year, the Met Gala turns into a full-blown fashion spectacle—and let's be honest, while the red carpet dazzles us, it's Twitter (or X now?) that truly steals the show. The moment celebrities start walking in, the internet comes alive with wild reactions, hilarious memes, and downright savage one-liners. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now It's like the world collectively becomes fashion critics, meme-makers, and pop culture commentators all at once. Whether it's Kim Kardashian squeezing into something gravity-defying, Jared Leto showing up as a giant cat, or someone wearing an outfit that looks like it was made of leftover tinfoil, social media has something to say. And the best part? It's instant. No one holds back, and that's what makes scrolling through the reactions more fun than watching the actual red carpet coverage. These tweets aren't just about fashion—they're mini-comedy sketches, cultural commentary, and pure chaos rolled into 280 characters. It's like everyone's invited to the afterparty... from their couch. The Met Gala may be an exclusive event, but thanks to social media, we all get to laugh, gasp, and gossip in real time. Honestly, it's the reactions that make the whole thing feel real and ridiculously fun. Here are some of the best social media reactions: "Both of my personalities trying to coexist together" 'that dress is disgusting, who let her out in public' 'fire your stylist girl' 'he looks boring as f###' #MetGala #MetGala2024 This is the Olympics for people who grew up watching Joan rivers how i look tweeting the #MetGala looks are ugly judging all the outfits while I look like this #MetGala
