Formula E's Miami E-Prix returns in 2026 with a new site — Hard Rock Stadium
FIA's Formula E electric car racing series will run its 2026 Miami E-Prix at the same site as FIA's Formula 1 runs its Miami Grand Prix — the Miami International Autodrome at Hard Rock Stadium. The Formula E event on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, won't use the same 3.36-mile (5.41 kilometers) track used for the annual F1 race, rather one of four shorter configurations. Unlike the F1 course and accompanying event fuss, none of the four options will affect access roads to or from Florida's Turnpike. Nor will it alter life at the nearby Miami Dolphins facility, on the chance the Dolphins are still playing. The Formula E event falls six days after the AFC Championship Game and during the Pro Bowl weekend between Championship Sunday and the Super Bowl. This will be the third venue in three Miami E-Prixs. In the series initial season, 2015, the event — practice, qualifying, race all in one day — ran on a downtown Miami course that included Biscayne Boulevard and the then-AmericanAirlines Arena. This year's return to Miami-Dade, despite scant local promotion and media coverage, drew 18,000 to 20,000 to Homestead-Miami Speedway. For comparison, that beat at least two days of qualifying and racing during March's NASCAR weekend at Homestead. And, there's a permanent road circuit at Homestead. But, Formula E prefers life on those downtown streets or at least closer than 35 miles (Homestead-Miami Speedway to the Freedom Tower) or 63 miles (Homestead-Miami Speedway to downtown Fort Lauderdale). 'It's a bit far from the city center, which is not what Formula E is about,' Formula E co-founder and Chief Championship Officer Alberto Longo said Monday. 'We like to be as close to the city as possible. We have always liked to say, 'We're bringing motorsport to the people' not the other way around, to have to get in your car and drive for one and a half hours to get there.' Longo felt that solid crowd got swallowed by Homestead's massive grandstands, saying 'If you saw that when we were racing in Paris, it would be amazing because the grandstands would be full.' Also, 'the cars are going to look way better at [Hard Rock] than Homestead.'

Pascal Wehrlein reacts to 2nd place finish at Tokyo E-Prix Round 9: 'Not super happy, but not very disappointed'

He said he didn't have the championship points in mind, even though he earned 18 points in the Round 9 race, as he genuinely wanted to win that race. Pascal Wehrlein isn't too happy after Tokyo race Taking to Instagram, Pascal Wehrlein shared a picture from the Tokyo E-Prix and wrote, 'P2! Strong fight - shame about the safety car in the end. Thank you Tokyo and all the fans! Arigatō.' The safety car had come out at a crucial moment when NEOM McLaren driver Taylor Barnard went into the barrier. Opening up about the race, Wehrlein said, 'It was an important day in general I think, as yesterday was very tricky. At the moment I'm still a bit disappointed because I think we could have done better, but there was just no way to defend my position when Oli [Rowland] was in Attack Mode. I did everything right and probably we need to analyse what we could have done better, but still, second is a good result with Dan [Ticktum] in P3. It's a very strong day for our package, which on the other side makes all of us happy.' He appeared calm and composed during the press conference as well. 'We could have done things a bit differently to finish the race in first place. So on one side, a bit disappointed, I really wanted to win that race. On the other side, it was a good result for the team P3, strong day for us. It is what it is,' he said. Pascal Wehrlein currently stands second in the Formula E Driver Standings with 84 points. He also secured third place on the podium at the Mexico E-Prix and later went on to win the Miami E-Prix. 'The gap is quite big. They also perform on a level which is super high. For us, it's a bit up and down. We were also unlucky in some situations. For me it's trying to maximize every race. Probably if I was thinking about the championship, I wouldn't be so disappointed about P2. I am just looking race to race. I am not super happy but also not very disappointed,' he said.

Oliver Rowland congratulates Sebastien Buemi on Monaco Round 7 win: 'Back where you deserve'

The leader in the Formula E Driver Standings won the Round 6 race and secured second place on the podium in the Round 7 race. He also congratulated Sebastien Buemi of Envision Racing for winning Round 7 and marking his return to the winners' list after a long driver Oliver Rowland shared a bunch of pictures from the Monaco race on Instagram. The first one showed Sebastien Buemi, Rowland, and Nick Cassidy on the podium. He wrote along with it, 'Incredible weekend in Monaco. Winning Saturday's race & second in Sunday's! Lots of points scored and a good way to bounce back after Miami! Thanks to my team, sponsors & family for the great support!'Applauding Buemi for his much-awaited win in Monaco, Rowland further wrote, 'Well done @sebastien_buemi on Sunday's win. Back where you deserve!'A fan reacted to the post, 'Great weekend and brilliant results. Well done.' Another wrote, 'What an amazing weekend!! Such deserved results!! Cheering you on at the track was an absolute pleasure!' One more wrote, 'You are doing amazing, championship is yours this year for sure! It was great to be in Monaco to cheer you on.' A comment also read: 'Keep up the good work. Hoping to watch you lift the championship trophy when I come down to London!' A fan also said, 'Congrats Oli, keep pushing for the world champion.'Rowland is at the top of the Formula E Driver Standings with 115 points. He ended up in 10th position at the Miami E-Prix in April with just one point. His double achievement in Monaco made up for what he lost in about his Monaco success, he said, 'We just need to keep pushing. Monaco E-Prix Round 7 results: Sebastien Buemi clinches third Monaco win, Oliver Rowland and Nick Cassidy join him on podium

He was the only driver to have won the Monaco Formula E race twice consecutively, in 2015 and 2017 when he drove for and returned to reassert his dominance in the city on Sunday. Nissan's Oliver Rowland , who won Round 6 a day before, took the second spot on the podium. Nick Cassidy of Jaguar TCS Racing clinched the third spot after winning the Monaco race in 2023. Monaco E-Prix Round 7 highlights It was fortunately not raining like during Qualifying, but the track was damp. Sebastien Buemi was the first Formula E driver to take Attack Mode and used it to reach the fifth position and then moved up the ladder up to the top. The much-awaited victory marks his return to form several years after his last win in New York in the Formula E World Championship Season 5. Talking to the media after the win, Buemi said, "It's hard to believe, just got to be lucky from time to time, but today we had great pace, great Attack Mode timing, amazing! Three-time Monaco winner, not bad! I mean we've been through a lot, so obviously to win now is something incredible, I think those guys deserve way more, I let them down quite a few times, and now today to win especially here, it's something very special, very thankful to them!" Oliver Rowland had control of the race in the first half but other drivers started catching up in the latter half. He finally managed to clinch the second spot amid much struggle and competition. As the race started, Sam Bird, who had crashed at the start of Qualifying, returned to participate in the race but started in the last position. Cupra-Kiro driver David Beckmann suffered a tyre issue and moved off the track but returned to the race later. Di Grassi of Lola Yamaha ABT retired early after the collision, ending all his chances of repeating his Miami E-Prix podium finish on his home track, Monaco. Nico Mueller also hit the wall and ended up going onto the escape road, but after making a U-turn, the driver couldn't return to the race and retired.

Monaco E-Prix Round 6 winner Oliver Rowland delays celebrations for Round 7: 'Normally you'd be looking forward to the champagne but…'

The Nissan driver went on to win the Round 6 on Saturday, registering his third win of the 2024–25 Formula E World Championship . The 32-year-old hinted that they would have been enjoying the champagne after the sweet victory but since this is a double header, the party will have to wait till Sunday. The Round 7 of the Miami E-Prix is scheduled on Sunday. Oliver Rowland on his winning strategy Talking about his quick strategy that resulted in a win for him, Oliver Rowland said, 'You never know what to do with the strategy especially with these Pit Boost races - it's the second race but we kind of had a plan and we stuck to it. It was a bit trickier to pass Taylor [Barnard] to be honest, but we kept calm - even at the end I was pretty worried during that second Attack Mode: I dropped back to fifth and I was behind two Mahindra's, and I was like 'right now we need to get cracking', but great job by the team and very well executed.' The 32-year-old added, 'I was thinking Taylor was pushing the barriers of the rules at some points, but fair play to him - in the end we got the job done so it doesn't really matter. We've started the season really well, but it feels a bit different now. Normally you'd be looking forward to the champagne but you've already got one eye on tomorrow.' A key factor in Rowland's success was the strategic deployment of Pit Boost by Nissan, allowing him to overtake polesitter NEOM McLaren driver Taylor Barnard on Lap 13. Despite briefly losing the lead to Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries on Lap 26, Rowland masterfully utilised his final Attack Mode on Lap 27 to reclaim the lead, ultimately winning the race by a comfortable two-second margin.
