Saujana-SMK Matang Jaya route marks completion of Bas.My Kuching rollout
Kong (centre) and others pose during a stop along the 10th and final route addition. KUCHING (July 2): The Kuching initiative saw the addition of its 10th and final route yesterday with the official launch of the. Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Michael Kong said the rolling-out of all 10 routes represents a broader shift toward improving urban mobility, and encouraging more Sarawakians to consider public transport as a viable daily commuting option. 'Moving forward, our focus will be on raising public awareness of Kuching and closely monitoring ridership patterns across all routes. 'We fully acknowledge the many requests received from members of the public to extend our services to other underserved areas. Rest assured, these requests are being seriously reviewed,' he said in a statement. At the same time, Kong said routes with persistently low ridership would be subject to reassessment. He emphasised Sarawak CVLB's commitment to ensuring that the limited resources and budget available are put to the most effective use, which may include route adjustments to serve more densely populated or high-demand areas. In conjunction with yesterday's launch, Kong and several officers also visited the new temporary bus hub at the Open Air Market, which now serves as the starting point for all 10 routes. This change follows the closure of the Saujana Bus Terminal due to the ongoing Kuching Urban Transportation System project. After observing that the traffic management of this new bus hub and taking note that this relocation has led to increased traffic congestion in the city centre, he said Sarawak CVLB will be working closely with Kuching North City Commission to identify alternative locations that can better accommodate the operational needs of the city's bus system, while minimising disruption to road users. Don't mislead public to score petty points against DAP, Kong to SUPP over matriculation admission statement
Michael Kong KUCHING (June 30): The state Democratic Action Party (DAP) yesterday accused the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) of making misleading statements on Putrajaya's matriculation admission policy. DAP Sarawak assistant publicity secretary Michael Kong said the Education Ministry had clarified that all students with 10As or more, including those with A-, would receive automatic offers for matriculation admission. 'This move is part of the federal government's continued commitment to recognising the academic excellence of our youth and ensuring a more inclusive and fair education policy. 'It is appalling that a party with sitting MPs within the federal government, such as SUPP, would allow its Youth leaders to issue such an irresponsible and incorrect statement with even basic fact-checking,' he said in a statement. The statement was in response to SUPP Kuching Youth deputy secretary Alan Bong, who had said students who obtained 10As with A- grades were not automatically offered matriculation placements and must undergo a merit-based selection process. Kong said SUPP Kuching Youth should check with those holding positions within the federal government before rushing to discredit a policy. He went on to claim that SUPP is beginning to resemble its Peninsula-counterpart MCA that 'has mastered the art of barking at every passing issue but ends up barking at the wrong tree'. Pointing out that people deserved better than petty and misleading antics, he said SUPP must not peddle disinformation simply to score political points against DAP. 'We urge SUPP to start acting like a serious political party. Instead of playing childish blame games, they should focus on bringing real improvements to the people they claim to represent and if they cannot do that, the very least they can do is get their facts right,' added Kong.

Sonic Expands InfoFi Infrastructure with Bubblemaps V2
George Town, Cayman Islands, June 13th, 2025, Chainwire Sonic is integrating Bubblemaps V2 to provide its users with deeper visibility into wallet behavior and token flows — a move that aligns with growing demand for onchain intelligence. The move comes as onchain trading accelerates, with users navigating increasingly complex market dynamics—from rapid token launches to high-volume DEX activity. By expanding its InfoFi infrastructure, Sonic provides its community with the tools to explore, analyze, and assess market behavior with greater clarity. Michael Kong, CEO of Sonic Labs, said: 'We're seeing a shift in how users interact with blockchains — not just to transact, but to understand. Access to visual analytics makes it easier for users to follow value flows and trading patterns across Sonic, particularly as onchain activity becomes more fast-paced and public.' Bubblemaps V2 enables users to track token distribution over time and examine wallet interactions, offering a clearer picture of ecosystem dynamics. Features like Time Travel and Magic Nodes support deeper insight into token lifecycles and wallet patterns. While Bubblemaps V2 is the technical layer, the underlying move reflects a broader shift: Sonic is positioning itself for an era where visibility and accountability become foundational expectations for any blockchain infrastructure. Nicolas Vaiman, CEO of Bubblemaps, added: 'InfoFi isn't just tooling, it's becoming infrastructure. Sonic is aligning with this new paradigm, putting intelligence where it matters the most: onchain.' As regulation tightens and more economic activity shifts onchain, infrastructure that supports clarity, traceability, and decision-making will become essential. Sonic is anticipating a future where transparency and insight are no longer optional — and is adjusting its infrastructure to reflect that shift. Bubblemaps V2 is now live on Sonic. Explore: About Bubblemaps Bubblemaps is the visual layer of InfoFi, the onchain intelligence stack redefining how blockchain data is interpreted.
