Raids at a man's Atlanta and Douglasville residences found a 'massive' fentanyl pill pressing operation, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Federal agents told Channel 2's Michael Seiden that it is the largest fentanyl pill operation ever found in Georgia. Law enforcement agents said the operation uncovered a total of 93 kilograms of fentanyl, along with a stockpile of other drugs and guns, including a machine gun. 'This armed felon allegedly ran a massive fentanyl pill pressing operation in our community, producing enough deadly fentanyl to potentially kill millions of people,' said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg. Bartholomew Keeton Harralson, 47, of Atlanta, was charged by a federal grand jury with possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 'The scale of this fentanyl operation - run by a convicted felon - posed a grave threat to our community,' said Paul Brown, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. 'The presence of high-powered firearms alongside industrial pill-pressing equipment underscores the deadly convergence of drug trafficking and violence.' Officials executed search warrants Thursday at both locations, and Haralson was arrested at his Atlanta residence. In addition, law enforcement said they found two large pill press machines capable of pressing up to 25,000 pills per hour, three hydraulic presses used to form kilogram-sized bricks of narcotics, as well as a book titled 'How to Avoid Federal Drug Conspiracy & Firearms Charges.' ‘Nursing imposters': Man impersonating healthcare worker arrested, officials say
A Henry County man is in jail after being accused of impersonating a nurse. He's one of many on a state registry that keeps track of impostors. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Investigators told Channel 2's Michael Seiden that 56-year-old Lonnie Williams applied for a job at the Auburn Avenue Medical Facility late last month. They praised the staff at the nursing home for doing the right thing. 'We work hard to earn our degrees and our certifications and our training,' said Yvette Wells with Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 'And for someone else to pretend like they're one of us, it's kind of a slap in the face.' Officials said Williams applied and then came in for his in-person interview. At first glance, he appeared to be the perfect candidate. 'He was eager to work here,' said Jozell Simmons with Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 'He wanted to come in as a nurse manager, a supervisor. He let me know that he had had experience as a unit manager and a supervisor.' But the day before his interview, a staff member shared the statewide list of 'nursing imposters' with the human resources department. According to the Georgia secretary of state's office, Lonnie Williams also goes by the name Lonnie Releford. Investigators said he has been using the license of a real nurse to work in medical facilities across the state. [SIGN UP: WSB-TV Daily Headlines Newsletter]

Scammers threatening drivers with suspended registrations now a nationwide problem
Have you gotten a text message that appears to be from the 'Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles?' You're not alone. Thousands of people across the country have gotten them. But these messages are fake. They claim to suspend your vehicle registration and driving privileges unless you pay your outstanding traffic ticket. Channel 2's Michael Seiden spoke with the Georgia Department of Driver Services and confirmed it's a phishing scam. Officials with the DDS say they've seen a major increase in calls and emails regarding this scam. 'We have heard from many, many, many people that have received the text,' said DDS spokeswoman Susan Sports. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] In fact, Sports says, the texts are incorrect from the very beginning. The State of Georgia doesn't even have a statewide Department of Motor Vehicles. 'We don't have a state DMV in Georgia. It is Georgia Department of Driver Services,' she said. Sports says a link in the text message that takes you to a website that asks you to enter personal and banking information. Officials say criminals looking to steal your money are behind the texts. 'Before a suspension or before anything like that would happen, we notify our customers in writing,' Sports explained.
