Local MotoGP2 racer Darryn Binder had a struggle at the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Spain, where he placed 19th out of 22 racers. • Also read: More bad luck for Darryn after DNF in Qatar Darryn confirmed on Gresini Racing's official website that it was a tough weekend (April 25–27) for him on the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto race track in Spain. I thought we found the way in the qualifying, but unfortunately, I struggled in the race. 'I managed to finish the race anyway, to take the bike home and collect information for the next one. Now I'll reset for Le Mans, we'll try again!' he concluded. Darryn will race again Michelin Grand Prix de France from May 9–11, and is currently 17th in the World Championship Standings for MotoGP2.

Brad just misses out on top 5 spot in Spain The hot Spanish sun baked the race course during the first two days of competitive action at the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Grand Prix of Spain for local MotoGP racer, Brad Binder, who narrowly missed the top five. • Also read: 13th place finish for Brad in Qatar According to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, Brad picked up 11th position during the sprint in Jerez, Spain, after a close miss for the qualifier two on Saturday morning, April 26. 'I expected more from the Sprint, but the conditions were quite different compared to the morning; it was a lot greasier on track and trickier. I tried my best to manage it. The pace wasn't bad, but I was still too slow. 'We have a bit too much chatter and we need more edge grip, but my guys have some ideas and we'll see what we can do tomorrow,' Brad said before the race. MotoGP's official website announced Brad placed sixth on the Circuit de Jerez-Angel Nieto, earning him 10 points for the World Championship Standings. Brad is currently 11th in the standings with 32 points and will race again in France at the Michelin Grand Prix de France on May 9–11.
