‘Passed out' driver facing impaired driving charges
A local resident is facing impaired driving charges after police found him 'passed out' in his vehicle near a Tiny Township intersection early Sunday morning.
According to Southern Georgian Bay OPP, detachment officers received a report from another driver at around 12:30 a.m. about a black Honda that was stopped facing westbound near County Road 6 and Lafontaine Road.
Police say the 'passed out' driver was woken up by an investigating officer, who began an impaired driving investigation.
The 52-year-old Midland man was charged with impaired operation (alcohol) and impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 milliliters.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled for an August court date.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
